Edda is a relatively unique support character in Sword of Convallaria, who, instead of healing her allies, focuses on fueling her attack engine with NRG regeneration, movement and damage buffs, and a “support attack” that helps finish off enemies.
Even though Edda is the first modern character in Sword of Convallaria to be added after launch, she certainly expands the character roster in an intriguing modern direction.
However, like any character not focused solely on offense, Edda can be considered an “advanced” character due to the more nuanced approach required to utilize her.
Here are some of the best skills we think you should look out for when building Eddy, as well as the teams we think she’ll be best suited for!
Best Sword of Convallaria Edda Build
While Edda starts out as a fairly average archer, you can quickly upgrade her skills to become an exceptional support character.
Firstly, she has a natural knack for using cover to her advantage in combat, increasing her survivability and making maps that would normally be complex with a ton of boxes and barrels more playable. This is thanks to her Shelter Advantage reaction and Barricade Fight passive, which reduces the damage she takes near boxes and other objects, then allows her to re-move after being attacked when close to cover.
Therefore, you should place her close to other characters but behind cover, which will allow her to slip into the chunky of the fight while remaining relatively secure.
However, I don’t think Barricade Fight is that good. So as for her three Skills, I think it’s better to focus Eddy on full support and map control. Here, you employ Wine Barrel Casting like Fire Sorceress’ grenades in Spiral of Destinies – instead, the floor turns into slippery wine, not fire.
Combined with Guiding Gleam, which grants massive attack buffs, and Take Arms, which refreshes your allies’ NRG, this means she can have a huge impact on the battlefield while also relying on her Assisting Attack trait to deal damage to any enemies your other characters can’t finish off.
Eddy’s ability to influence multiple fights on the battlefield at the same time makes her a very forceful character in the Sword of Convallaria lineup. A high-level build of her skills should look like this:
- Basic attack
- The advantage of shelter
- Guiding featherlight
- To arms!
- Wine barrel casting
Compositions by the Edda band
Edda is perfect for supporting melee players.
She provides them with close-range movement, a heavy-hitting attack, and magic defense to prevent them from being easily picked off. This, combined with her support attack that helps finish off enemies when your DPS characters have no chance, makes her a great partner for a variety of melee characters – even if they don’t need NRG!
Speaking of NRG, Edda also works well with other characters who have skills that heavily utilize NRG but can’t quickly regain energy and employ them again.
For example, Dantalion and Col both have passives or traits that allow them to regain NRG after defeating an enemy, meaning they can take care of themselves without Edda’s lend a hand (though they love her attack buff).
On the other hand, characters like Beryl or Gloria can also restore 1 NRG at a time with their specific skills, but there are also characters like Nungal and Faycal who need a lot of NRG for their best skills but have no mechanism to restore them on their own. Therefore, these are the types of characters you should pair with Edda.
Basically, if you ever find yourself using a character’s basic attack when you don’t want to, they can employ Eddy.
