Come celebrate 10 years of Over the Garden Wall with this stunning stop-motion film from the creators of Wallace and Gromit

It’s the 10th anniversary of the beloved animated series Above the Garden Walland on this occasion, a low time-lapse film was released.

Every year, as the leaves begin to turn brown, orange, red and gold, one thought comes to every Halloween fan’s mind: Over the Garden Wall season is upon us. Fall (or fall as you call it in the US), when the weather is really pleasant, is definitely the coziest of seasons, and a miniseries like Over the Garden Wall is the perfect complement. Fortunately, the series’ creator, Patrick McHale, knew that there could be too much of a good thing and there hasn’t been another season of the show since its premiere, but that’s changed this year, all in honor of the show’s 10th anniversary.

Cartoon Network announced this earlier this year and to celebrate the occasion, Wallace and Gromit creator Aardman produced a stop-motion low film Over the Garden Wall, and as today marks the 10th anniversary, the low film has now been released. You can watch it above and I really recommend it, it’s absolutely wonderful. The dolls all have a wooden look, almost reminiscent of Pinocchio, which is entertaining considering McHale co-wrote the stop-motion film Pinocchio with Guillermo del Toro.

I admit I can’t tell if the dialogue is entirely recent, as there’s definitely some archival voice acting from the always goofy Greg, but all of the animation is recent, allowing us to see the characters from the miniseries in a handsome recent airy.

If there are any of you who first came across Over the Garden Wall because of this low film, I really recommend watching it – it’s only 10 episodes and each is 10 minutes long, so it’s an basic and breezy film. viewing and one that you will quickly find every time you catch leaves falling from the trees.
