Publisher 2K Games and developer Firaxis Games have released the requirements for Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 for PC ahead of its launch early next year.
The team behind the latest addition to the historic 4X series has detailed the minimum, recommended and ultra settings for PC users post on X/Twitter. It’s a comprehensive list of everything players need to know before they set course on their grand global plans, letting them know what they’ll need if they want to dive into the game when it launches in February. While Civilization 7 is also expected to launch on macOS and Linux/SteamOS, 2K says there are no requirements for the game to be available on those platforms “at this time.”

Civilization 7 was announced in February 2023 as the seventh installment of the classic 2K strategy series. Its reveal put an end to a long wait, as the previous main installment, Civilization 6, was released back in 2016. It wasn’t until June this year that the publisher was ready give the project an official titleWith game in August. The PC requirements should facilitate gamers with the four-month wait until launch, though it’s unclear when specs for other platforms will arrive.
Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 will be released on PC, MacOS, Linux, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S February 11, 2025 Currently available is the Founders Edition, which offers early access, allowing purchasers of the game from February 6.
