City to the city He is the latest builder of cities, which is now in early access and it is a necessary game for fans of this genre. This novel, beautifully blocked game allows creativity to delve into an absolutely stunning landscape, and thanks to a wide range of adaptation options, it stands out from other entries in this genre. From City to the city It is still in access, fans can expect that the Galaxy Grove programmer will add more functions when the game is approaching the full premiere – although I am impressed by what we already have.
After starting the game, you have two options: a novel game (campaign) and sandbox mode. The game campaign throws you into the world of Belvue, and then you gain access to the second Fontebrac map, which introduces the functions of agriculture and game management. The third map, Rocemarée, plans to release the campaign later in the line.
During the campaign you will receive tasks from your city residents who will ask you to improve the city. Sometimes they ask you to simply plant flowers or lay a statue here and there. At other times, they want you to roll up your sleeves and deserve the maze of hedge or square on the market. Regardless of their demand, you will be rewarded with novel items that you can place, which can not be unlocked in sandbox mode.
In Sandbox mode, you have five different maps to choose from: the same two of the campaign, Belvau and Fontebrac, as well as three novel ones. Three novel levels – Creusemont, Venttelieu and Montededeux – they all have their own features that offer something novel. Ventelieu is a completely flat, open field, allowing the construction of your city as you like, while Montedeux offers two huge mountains with a petite gap in the middle, calling you to cleverly cunning around a rocky landscape.
Although different maps offer something novel for the first game on them, they are not generated procedural. This means that every time you go to Belvau or start a novel campaign, you will load into the same Belvau map. Fontebrac always has a giant lake in the middle, Ventelieu will always be flat, and Montedeux always has two unbearable peaks. The only difference between the game on a specific map is placing the rocks. Although this may affect your early city design, you get the opportunity to remove the rocks quite early. This is the only tool for modifying the area you have at your disposal. Add all these factors together, and your ability to repeat is significantly constrained.

The advantage is that the campaign took me about eight to 10 hours to “finish” or feel as joyful as I could on the two maps that gave me. This is due to about four to five hours per map. Connect to the game for the other three sandbox maps and you will get about 20 to 25 hours of gameplay. Not bad because of an independent game, which is still at an early stage of access.
When I was close to what I considered the end of the campaign (there is no “real end”; the game allows you to build after reaching the largest size of the city), I encountered minor performance drops. My village has achieved the certified status “Grandiose City”, the eighth and the largest size of the city, with over 100 buildings. Enlargement to see all my settlement, which took only about 75 percent of the available map, caused a slight stuttering and delay. It was petite enough that it did not disturb my ability to play, but it is still worth paying attention, especially for anyone who can only be in the recommended specifications or slightly above the recommended specifications.

Sales function for City to the city It is its function without a net and although it opens the door so that your creativity leads Amok, does not come without consequences. When I started playing for the first time, I wanted my Hamlet’s houses to be on perfect parallel roads. But what originally looked like concise roads to my naked eye, ended slightly scanty and without a net function to clearly show these disadvantages, my houses resembled malicious teeth on hardened paths. I spent more time than I would like to admit that (and often failures) to improve my city’s lines, while its citizens watched with resignation when their houses were moved again.
Other times, decorative items were not in line with the buildings on which they were placed. Objects such as benches that can be rotated a few degrees, but not freely, would not sit straight at the walls. Now let’s explain: I destroy here and you can assess how the annoying bench curve or uneven fence are on the screenshots below for themselves. If you are a perfectionist like me, remember that you can experience switching your vision all the time.

After playing in the campaign and putting on the sandbox compilation, I tried to let go a bit, and boy, I spent time with City to the city Only better and better. I curved my paths, covered uneven distances between the buildings and shrugged to the lack of homogeneity of my decorations. And what you know what, I think, it would be chaos, it ended with harmony.
You Power It is still very much to make your districts with cookies, if you want it. This may be a bit more tough than other city builders, but it is very possible to organize roads, buildings and various decor, everything neat and neat. If I, certified neat freak, could give advice, learn to let go. The game is more pleasant when it is played with Freedom to which it is intended.
What was the impression of me City to the cityHowever, there was an impressive number of adjustment options. There is not only a gigantic number of decorations and types of buildings that unlock with each branch of the research tree, but the way these decorations are placed varies depending on where you are trying to put them.

Take, for example, a flower patch. This one plain element changes its shape depending on where you are trying to put it. Remove over the window and looks like a flower. Put it on the wall and becomes a hanging flower garland. Place it in water and becomes lilac pads. This mechanic opens the level of exploration in design, which most other city builders simply do not offer, and at every opportunity I received excitement of decorations in a research tree. Forget to unlock a bakery or woodwork station. Give me my flowers!
To sum up, City to the city It may not be without minor flaws, but it is an extremely fascinating city builder. During the construction of my villages, I stuck to the computer and I can’t wait to solve other maps in which I had no chance to sink my teeth. There is enough playback options to keep me for a hearty time, and I hope that fans will receive even more gameplay functions when the game is approaching full release.
