Genshin Strike has released preview images (known in the community as “drip marketing”) of the next batch of upcoming characters. This round of drip marketing features the peacemaker Chasca and the enigmatic Ororon. Here’s what we know about them so far.
Chasca, Anemo’s archer
If you’ve played the first few Archon Quests in Natlan, you’ve already met him Chasca. He is a Bow user from the Flower and Feather tribe, which represents the Anemo element. Apparently, Chasca was raised by Saurians, which resulted in a combative nature. When she was found and adopted by a human family, Chasca had to learn to deal with human interactions in a more peaceful way. Now Chasca fulfills his role as Peacemaker, resolving tribal conflicts wherever they arise.
As for Chaska’s playable kit, we’ve seen her utilize a bow during cutscenes, and her Anemo Vision is clearly evident on her hip. However, outside of her weapon and element, we don’t know how Chasca will actually play. Given Chasca’s involvement in the story and how her element fits into her tribe’s theme, it’s likely that Chasca will be a five-star character. More details should be available in a few weeks.
Ororon an enigmatic traitor?
Actually, never saw To listen during Archon Quests in 5.0, but we heard him say a few lines. It appears to be from the Night Wind Lords, a Natlan tribe symbolizing the Cryo element. However, despite his tribal affiliation, Ororon has ElectroVision. Archon Quest reveals that Ororon is working with the suspected Fatui Harbingers, although it is unclear whether he is forced or acts of his own free will. Apart from his brief involvement in the Archon Quests, we know little else about Ororon.
Ororon officially has Electrosight, but his weapon type remains unknown. We haven’t even seen him in-game yet, which makes it challenging to speculate on his playable kit. Fun Fact: Ororon is only the fourth male Electro character to join Genshin Strike list. All ten other Electro characters in Genshin Strike are female, giving the most skewed sex ratio of all elements.
When will Chasca and Ororon arrive in Genshin Impact?
Based on trends in previous releases, we can expect Chasca and Ororon to become playable at some point Genshin Strike Version 5.2. Our roadmap assumes that 5.2 will be at level 1 November 20 release date. Both newcomers are expected to debut on the same day or three weeks later on December 11, depending on how HoYoverse sets up its banners.
