Well, I guess no one expected the announcement of a fresh Carmageddon game, and yet 34BigThings studio revealed Carmageddon: Rogue Shift. The fresh Carmageddon game is a roguelite racing game where vehicular combat is the centerpiece of every event. Players will have a variety of different vehicle bodies and weapons to apply to build their own deadly racing car. You can check out some of the gameplay in the announcement trailer below.
Carmageddon: Rogue Shift takes place in the year 2050, when the streets are overrun by Wasted at night, meaning humanity must hide in the dim in their homes. Unless they’re a street racer looking for money, prestige, and a chance to get off the planet safely. Carmageddon: Rogue Shift will feature 15 vehicles, a mix of FWD, RWD and AWD vehicles, each with their own unique stats. There are also 13 classes of weapons, ranging from shotguns to rocket launchers, which can also be upgraded. Players will also have access to over 80 benefits that will allow them to further customize their vehicle equipment while racing on tracks with active weather and day/night cycles. All campaigns will be unique as events are randomly generated and players will race into boss battles as they progress. In either case, players will take damage, so planning routes to the shops scattered around the area to make repairs and purchase upgrades will also be crucial.
There is also an ongoing pre-registration event on the website Carmageddon: Rogue Change a website where players can unlock rewards for playing. Carmageddon: Rogue Shift will be released in early 2026 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series XS and Switch 2.
