Capcom has confirmed that Mega Man remains one of its “highly valuable intellectual properties” and that it is “considering how to make games for him on an ongoing basis.”

Capcom shared this update for the beloved series during a Q&A session for its 45th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, And while no specific details have been provided, it’s always nice to know that the brand still wants to continue its tradition.

A shareholder asked Capcom about its plans for the Mega Man series, and Capcom responded, “Mega Man is one of our highly valued intellectual properties and we are constantly considering how to make games for it.”

Mega Man was first released for the NES console in 1987 and has since spawned over 50 installments that have sold over 41 million copies (as of October 2023). Mega Man 11 was the last main installment of the game and was released for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC in 2018.

In our Mega Man 11 review we wrote, “It’s not revolutionary, but Mega Man 11 feels like a classic Mega Man game and sets a good foundation for the next 10 games.”

Since then, multiple Mega Man collections have been released, including Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, but we’re still waiting for the Blue Bomber’s next gigantic adventure.
