Caitlyn and Vi’s key moment in Arcane’s second season ‘wouldn’t have been technically possible’ before because it was apparently so complicated

The second season of Arcane debuted over the weekend with three episodes covering the first part of the series. But even in three episodes, it looks like the show’s creators managed to pack a lot in, including a scene that fans have been eagerly awaiting since the first season aired three years ago.

It was pretty obvious that we were on the event horizon of Caitlyn and Vi kissing after the first season of Arcane. The pair spent most of their time together after the first act, and it was clear to most fans like me that their relationship would only grow from there. Still, I don’t think I’m alone in wondering why the hell it took so long for these two characters to finally respond to each other’s feelings.

While TechRadar In an interview, Arcane creators Christian Linke and Alex Yee Linke actually revealed that the decision to postpone Vi and Caitlyn’s kiss until Season 2 was not only made by the show’s narrators, but also that animation studio Fortiche Production wasn’t sure if they could do it to do justice to such a lovely scene from the first season.

“So he thanked us for not doing it!” Linke says: “He said, ‘I don’t think we’d do a good job. We couldn’t do it in the first season,’ so it was fascinating to hear that it wouldn’t be technically possible even if we wanted to do it.”
