Braid and The Witness creator Jonathan Blow teases the announcement of the Game Awards

Jonathan Blow just “made the announcement,” teasing that he might be boarding a plane today to join an “upcoming gaming event.”

“We’ve been working hard on projects for a very long time. We have a lot of different things that we’re developing. They’re very complicated. Sometimes they take a while to get done. Do we give up? No, no. We keep going and we manage to complete them because in the end, even if something took nine or ten years to make, if you work hard for a long time, you can create something that’s extremely good, much better than you expected at the beginning, and then you can finally release it to people.”

“I’m speaking in general terms at this point,” Blow joked. “Actually, I can’t say anything specific because it’s not an announcement, okay? It’s an announcement, so I can’t give you any facts that are reserved for the announcement itself. But I’m announcing that this announcement will be coming soon. Maybe very soon. Maybe, you know, I don’t know if there will be any events related to the gaming industry this week where things could be shown about upcoming projects. I don’t know if there is something like that, you can keep an eye on it, right? I just want to watch, and maybe you will see a trailer for an RPG game in which You’re fighting monsters from hell.”

“That’s probably not what we’re announcing,” he added hastily. “There’s nothing wrong with that, but that’s not what we’re announcing. You might see a few other things. So this is the announcement announcement. If there are any events in the gaming industry, for example in Los Angeles – which I won’t even know about because I have to get on a plane tomorrow morning to go to some show – if there’s anything like that, some Game Awards. I don’t think we’ll get an award tomorrow, but if there’s something like that, that’s also information beyond the awards, so keep your eyes peeled…”

“Yes. Just be careful, because in a place like this – if I were to make an actual announcement that included the facts that I wanted to convey that people often ask about – this would be a good place to do it, to make the actual announcement that we’re making today. Fine. Thank you.”

Wondering what the fresh game might be? Well, according to one commentator, the game is going to be called Order of the Sinking Star. “The game has been called this for over a year and there is even such a name subreddit for this” – they he noticed.

Blow’s latest game, The Witness, received an impressive rating of 10/10 from us. IN IGN’s “The Witness” reviewwe called it “a beautiful, powerful and cleverly designed puzzle game with plenty of mysteries to unravel.”

We’re keeping track of what’s been confirmed so far, what’s been released, what’s been teased, and some of the dream games that we know deep in our brains won’t be there, but our hearts tell us there just might be a chance. Don’t worry, we won’t be that far-fetched to say that GTA6 will be at The Game Awards, neither The Witcher 4Which CD Projekt Red has already confirmed that this will not happen. But that’s enough.
