Both Nintendo and Sega had announcements at odd times this week

Whether you believe that the art you consume should distract from the real world or be a reflection of it is up to you and your capacity for curiosity. While this division doesn’t exist for fans of film, music, literature, or television, for some reason it does exist for people who enjoy sports and video games. As a result, journalists covering the latter field sometimes have the absurd task of calling certain things “news” in weeks when these stories seem to be anything but – because not everyone is interested in them true news.

This is one of those weeks. So, on the heels of one of the most consequential presidential elections in decades, our biggest “news” of the week is actually Nintendo announcing that the Switch 2 will be backwards compatible with the Switch, and Sega delisting over 60 classic games like Crazy taxi (Sorry, Tim Walz) and many other things that certainly matter a lot right now.
