Borderlands 4 review

Published:

After Borderlands 3 I had a challenging question: is one of my favorite series passing me? This release from 2019 I realized that the last Borderlands game, which I really liked – apart from the excellent stories of Telltale from Borderlands – was Borderlands 2 in 2012. Initially, I turned to Borderlands 4 with skepticism because of this. However, the gearbox apparently agreed with my criticism, because Borderlands 4 introduces and re -calibrates countless elements to provide something that could be my recent favorite in the series.

Borderlands 4 plays all the known chorus for which franchise is known: you control one of four vault hunters when you shoot thousands of masked maniacs and mutated monsters. A photo of these hordes of enemies not only gives you a valuable experience to equalize your character, but also millions of weapons to rob. According to his pedigree, this weapon is a climax; Each meeting has the potential to give your recent favorite weapon, a rush, which I never tired during my over 50-hour game. Although the improvements to my existing equipment were ultimately sporadic, I lived when I got something special, for example a sniper rifle with sticky bombs or a knife throwing peculiarities.

I have always been waiting for the spoils that every battle would provide, but Borderlands 4 shooting fights are as cluttered and fun as always. Although some stretch longer than my preferences, the wide ranges of enemies from various factions escalate the variety of enemies in each fight, and I often caught focus when the vigorous change of music signaled the arrival of a robust enemy variant “Badass”. I loved to choose my enemies with my assault rifle before I started attacking a corrosive shotgun. Throwing the knife to fold the last blow, trying to reload again, never stopped making me feel like a star star.

The world of Cairos is under the oppressive thumb of time, which values order primarily. Gearbox has created a properly intimidating antagonist, who clearly shines from the senior villains of the series, and thus provides my favorite BIG Bad from the handsome Jacek Borderlands 2. If you want a more unknown type of villain, franchise is known, you will find a lot of them thanks to his supporting cast.

To fight with time, this entry probably provides the strongest class of vault hunters, each with many clear skill trees, as well as the skills of actions specific to the characters. Rafa is a agile injury dealer; Harlowe may apply a status ailment that spreads the damage to many purposes; VEX can recall Phantoms support; And my favorite, amon, can throw elementary axles or call a fiery barrier. Thanks to the wider skills and lots of possible to unlock cosmetics, you can adapt your characters more than ever before.

Each character has access to completely recent movement mechanics, such as gliding and gripping. I’ve always liked to start on the battlefield, the enemy coat from above and running to the sliding explosion of the shotgun, then threw the danger. These improved movement mechanics add a ton to each meeting and I really think that it would be challenging to return to older Borderlands games where you have no disposal. However, having the same button that Dodge, Ground Fun and Crouch made caused me more than a few disturbing death.

These transition elements are useful when you go through the world’s world’s world’s history. Cairos, which is quick to discover thanks to the cited Digirunner vehicle, is full of amusing subversions, such as unthreatening houses, world bosses and fascinating side missions. You can also discover Vauults, which a fight based on a home wave interrupted intensive boss battles, but it is disappointing to have one of the most amusing content hidden behind the mysterious “hot/cold” meter, which does not work well with so many layers in the world.

Although the most satisfying moments of my game appeared during exploration, the open world can be laborious, because sometimes I tried to find the best path to my goal. Fortunately, the recent companion of the Echo-4 robot can lend a hand navigate your point, but its tips can be found or missed.

Borderlands 4 generally scales with the level of the whole game, which makes a high level in the final stretch and frustrating. This violent difficulty caused the momentum I had for the last act, but history as a whole is much more even than previous entries. Borderlands 4 better balances comedy elements and offers more unforgettable gags, characters and moments.

In fact, the worst thing I can say about Borderlands 4 is that some things just last too long. Some fights are too long -lasting, some missions contain too many chain related targets, and some bosses have too much health. When these bosses from the ball have many forms, they become exercises in boredom and frustration, not adrenaline -powered meetings that are designed. But when the game is so amusing to play, it is only a slight irritation and is often relaxed thanks to the excellent cooperative of the series, which is even better in this post, thanks to the effortless -to -appear session, improved swift journey and play -up meetings of bosses. However, before I reached the last boss, it was obvious that some parts of the game were not properly tuned for one player action.

Although many basic elements of the series remains intact, Gearbox improved them and configured them again in such a way that Borderlands 4 rises beyond everything that the series has achieved until this point, thanks to which the cluttered scorer of the players’ reputation in early 2010. It is also a poster child for excess and restraint, which sounds paradoxical, but for a series named at the border seemingly opposite concepts seems to be at home.
