Have you been waiting to find out when Blue Exorcist season 4 will be released? Great news, Aniplex has finally announced it, along with the theme song for the season.
Over a decade ago, when Blue Exorcist first aired, it was (unsurprisingly) a lot more popular than it is now. The series has definitely lost a lot of steam, thanks to the fact that the second season dropped a full six years after the first in 2017, and another seven years after Season 3 dropped in January of this year. We’ve known for a while that the wait for Season 4 wouldn’t be as long, thankfully, with an October release window, and this morning, Aniplex finally gave us a specific date: October 5th. The announcement of that date came alongside a compact recent trailer set to the season’s ending theme, which you can check out below.
The upcoming fourth season will span two episodes, the first being Beyond the Snow Saga followed by Blue Night Saga. The second is set to air in January 2025, with most anime’s constant home Crunchyroll making it available for streaming. The ending theme, which can be heard in part in the trailer, is called “Tsurara” and is performed by Yobahi, and sounds at least appropriately emotional.

If you’ve never heard of the series before, the English manga publisher Viz Media describes the story: “Raised by Father Fujimoto, a famous exorcist, Rin Okumura never knew his real father. One day, a fateful argument with Father Fujimoto forces Rin to face a terrible truth – the blood of the demon lord Satan flows through Rin’s veins! Rin vows to defeat Satan, but to do so, he must enter the mysterious True Cross Academy and become an exorcist himself. Will Rin be able to fight the demons and keep his hellish bloodline a secret? It won’t be easy, especially when drawing his father’s sword unleashes demonic power within him!”
It is still unknown how many episodes the anime will have, but considering the airdates of both parts, it can be assumed that it will be longer than the 12-episode Season 3 (assuming there are no major breaks).
