Blizzard will keep Halloween alive in 2025 with Season of Spells in Diablo 4

Published:

Even though it’s vampire season, Diablo 4 has the next best thing: witches. IN next seasoneveryone will benefit from the incredible energy hidden within them and have unique powers, such as summoning a giant frog and a swarm of flaming bats.

From January 21 Diablo 4 will look completely different from an action RPG with regular elderly wizards and barbarians running around. Is the whole grimoire modern, unique powers that will disappear after the end of the season. This will also be the first time since Season 3 that Blizzard has intentionally flexed the classic hack-and-slash style of the game, rather than just introducing a modern eternal feature – although there are a few of those as well.

Diablo 4 The campaign introduces you to a enormous, morally sinister tree known as the Tree of Whispers. He whispers untold knowledge to people in exchange for their heads when they inevitably die. There are many reasons why the tree has been haunted since day one, but in the Season of Witchcraft it loses its heads and needs your support to get them back.

Your seasonal character will join a coven of witches who protect her and hunt modern Headrotten monsters to please the tree. The modern seasonal quest will take you through the details, but you’ll travel to infected regions of the open world to kill Headrotten and learn about the witches’ powers. Some of them offer passive bonuses such as movement speed or extra damage, while others are more powerful, such as the ability to summon a frog that licks monsters with its poisonous tongue and then explodes into more poison. There are also scarce Lost Powers that you must find in the dungeons, and one of them allows you to spin up a tornado made of piranhas called Piranhado.

Blizzard has a list of other quality of life improvements coming with the season, including the ability to save and switch between different character sets. Class balance changes are also coming and will be discussed stream this Thursday. Recent Vessel of Hate the expansion introduced the Spiritborn into the game and it didn’t take long for them to hit record numbers of damages making the rest of the class look like fools. They’re first on the chopping board, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the witches’ modern powers send them back to the top again.
