Black Ops 7 – What to expect from the replayable, cooperative ‘End of Campaign’ gameplay.

Published:

The year is 2035 and the world is on the brink of chaos. When Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launches on November 14 on PS5 and PS4, players will face up-to-date and returning threats in a co-operative campaign that culminates in the replayable Endgame gameplay.

With the game’s release just a few days away, let’s take a closer look at the story so far and learn more about Endgame.

Co-op campaign and end game

In Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, PlayStation players will take part in an groundbreaking co-operative campaign that redefines the Black Ops experience. Form a team or embark on a solo mission with high stakes.

From the neon-lit rooftops of Japan to the Mediterranean coast, discover the truth behind the Guild and the weapons that threaten to turn fear itself into a weapon of war. Players will also explore Avalon, a enormous city whose secrets spread throughout Campania.

The overarching goal with Black Ops 7’s story was to tell a story that could stand on its own while still honoring the series’ legacy. During development, significant opportunities arose to reconnect characters and storylines from previous Black Ops titles, bringing them into the near future where their presence could elevate the experience. However, it was significant that even players with no knowledge of Black Ops history could expect a deeply immersive and connected story and world.

After completing the first 11 missions in the co-op campaign, players unlock Endgame, a replayable co-op game for 1-32 players in squads of up to four.

Fight in increasingly vulnerable zones throughout Avalon, level up skill paths and combat ratings, complete vigorous tasks and escape to maintain your hard-earned progress, all while gaining levels and weapon XP and unlocking weapon camos.

Endgame Journey

Your C-Link COMBAT operating system unlocks full equipment customization. Your ultimate goal is to gain enough power to reach the highest exposure zones where something is leaking massive amounts of toxins into Avalon.

Players start by selecting an operator and a primary and secondary ability, defining the operator’s unique approach to combat, including skills such as hand cannon, dynamic camouflage, grappling hook and more.

Complete your kit, deploy, and then gain power in the match by completing objectives and defeating enemies to boost your Operator’s combat rating. When your combat rating increases, you will be given the opportunity to choose one of two skill or skill tracks. These skills continually develop as your Operator’s Combat Rating increases over time to a maximum of 60.

There are six skill paths in total, ranging from Rifleman with skills such as increased reload speed and quick weapon swapping, to Surgeon with skills such as improved health regeneration and quick recovery.

If you are killed in action, you lose everything. Go in, turn on the power and get out.

The story so far

It begins with Menendez, a villain from Call of Duty®: Black Ops 2, who has returned, threatening to plunge the world back into darkness.

Raul Menendez

“You will know fear once again.” — Raul Menendez

Raul Menendez first appears in 1986 as the leader of the Menendez Cartel. He captured CIA agent Frank Woods and left him for dead. When Alex Mason learns of his friend’s plight, he leaves his son David to save Woods.

Woods wants revenge and gives the green lithe to invade the villain’s house. In the chaos of the fighting, Woods throws a grenade into the house, accidentally killing Menendez’s sister, Josefina.

A few years later, Menendez evens things out by talking Woods into shooting Alex Mason. The villain then strikes Woods in both knees, paralyzing him. While Menendez is suffering, now Woods will suffer too.

Menendez creates the political movement Cordis Die, spreading propaganda portraying the organization as a defender of the world’s impoverished, secretly inciting a second Cold War.

Alex Mason’s son, David, finally manages to stop Menendez with Woods’ assist. After a multi-generational manhunt, he allows the villain to rest… or so he thinks.

Next frontier: Guild

As the world reels from the news of Menendez’s return, The Guild, a global technology giant led by CEO Emma Kagan, rises to the challenge of defending humanity, promising peace through security, using advanced technology to protect its citizens, and openly opposing Menendez and his supporters.

The fight continues: David and JSOC

Although both are enemies of Menendez, David Mason has doubts about the Guild’s true motives. It’s up to him and his cohort of elite JSOC operators to uncover the truth about all this, including reports of weapons designed to turn fear into a tool of chaos.
