Beyerdynamic DT 1770 PRO MKII 30 OHM can be sold as studio reference headphones, but don’t be fooled by the PRO-Audio-Ta brand that absolutely hits the game. Thanks to the appropriate configuration, it provides sound ships with values to immerse one player and precise precision for a competitive game. And now, having a player -friendly impedance 30 ohms, you can actually run them from your controller or phone without the need for 1000 USD.
DT 1770 PRO MKII does not shout the player. No RGB, no angles, no microphone. You get a solidly built, completely metal frame with plush, Earpads and this characteristic Beyer head clamp, which seems to survive Dropkick from Kratos. The closed backrest maintains the sound and distraction of attention, perfect for sessions delayed at night or competitive matches.
Inside the Beyer box packs two types of pads (velor and synthetic leather), two cables (rolled and straight) and a bonus housing. Welszowe pads offer more breathable, softer, ideal for long game sessions and are particularly convenient for wearing glasses, although they let in a little more noise of the environment.
On the other hand, synthetic leather pads provide better passive insulation and a tighter, more reinforced bass seal, which makes them perfect for addictive or boisterous environments. This is a nice accent at this price (USD 899) and makes it easier to adjust the comfort or insulation.
DT 1770 PRO MKII Specifications
Availability is the biggest win for this novel MKII 30 OHM model. The original DT 1770 PRO 250 OHM impedance made him strive for driving without a dedicated amplifier. Now, with a much more amiable 30 ohms, you can connect them straight to the DualSense PS5 controller, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Pad, and even a phone or laptop and get great results. After saying, they still scale beautifully with better DAC. Connect it to something like the Fiio Q3, you will notice deeper bass and stronger imaging, but the fact that they work well outside the box is a huge offer.
The sound script and imaging are distinguished by DT 1770 Pro MKII. In games such as Assassins Creed Shadows, The Last of Us Part I or Cyberpunk 2077, these headphones dig the sound details you didn’t even know about. Traces, wind rustling through broken windows, metallic reloading gun – all with a terrifying, delicious brightness.
In competitive games such as Valorant or Call of Duty: Watzone, the accuracy of the position is unreal. You can follow the enemy movement with such precision that it is almost unfair. The closed structure also helps to focus, maintaining the noise of the environment. If you play on the console, the 3.5 mm socket is plugged and playing, but remember that there is no built -in microphone, so you need a separate chat configuration.
Because it is still in the heart, reference to headphones, DT 1770 PRO MKII is amazing for music, especially if you prefer brightness and detailed information about the devastated bass. It has a bit of V -shaped tuning with a pure, mighty low end and shiny rises. Not too heated, but musical enough to make everything from Hans Zimmer’s soundtracks to Kendrick Lamar.
Watching Netflix or YouTube is also a joy. Dialogue is crunchy, the effects in the background are refined, and this cinema scale really shines on them. If you are looking for a whole day of headphones that can support games, working connections and frosty sessions, it fits the bill-you don’t mind the wire connection.
Compared to Beyerdynamic MMX 300 Pro (also available in version 32 OM), DT 1770 Pro MKII seems more earnest and sophisticated. MMX has a great integrated microphone and is specially built for games, but DT 1770 offers wider versatility and better sound quality for both music and editing at Pro level. Against Sennheiser HD 660S2 or Audeze Maxwell, has its own with better comfort and less dependence on high -class equipment to sound great. It is not wireless, it is not flashy, but it is built like a tool, not a toy.
Buy if …
✅ You want sound at the highest level without confusion: The 30 ohm impedance means that these headphones sound great even from the controller, telephone or laptop – no fancy amplifier.
✅ You already have a microphone or you do not need it: it is good to operate modmic or outer configuration and you want headphones that focus exclusively on elite sound quality.
Don’t buy if …
❌ You want to build a microphone: These do not have, so if you want a quick voice chat without additional equipment, skip them.
❌ You need something wireless or ready to travel: they are weighty, wired and designed for desk configuration, not for work or listening freely.
There are several petite flaws. First of all, it is weighty headphones by about 388 g – which is almost 50 g heavier than our beloved DT 900 PRO X. After a few hours, the clamp and weight can start pressing, especially with pads. If you wear glasses like me, you certainly prefer the Cushier Velor set for pressure assist. Secondly, the price is high. At 899 USD AUD it is a earnest investment, especially when there are excellent options, such as DROP + Sennheiser PC38X or Audeze Maxwell for much less. Finally, it’s not portable. This is a massive headset in a studio style with long cables. If you want to wear something on a train or gym, look elsewhere.
DT 1770 PRO MKII 30 OHM is not trying to be your average headset. He is not interested in trends or RGB. It is about providing players and creators with access to the audiophile class sound with types of details and imaging, which can really improve the way you play and experience games. If you want a sound at the reference level that works on any device, it is. If you want convenience, built -in microphone or wireless freedom, you need to look elsewhere. But for my money I will be content to invest in an external microphone and remain attached to my platform to get a high -quality sound that I receive from these Beyers.
