Stormy wavesVersion 1.2 brings a ton of recent content, including a recent 5-star Resonator, Zhezhi, to pull. If you’re interested in pulling her, or have already done so and are trying to level her up, here’s a handy guide to assist you build Zhezhi.

Zhezhi’s best design in Withering waves

Zhezhi is Ice a character with a clear focus on dealing Basic Attacks, both on and off the field, to deal damage. He plays the role Sub-DPS due to her incredibly powerful Outro ability buffs, Concerto’s swift rotation, and consistent off-field damage with her Ultimate.

Like other characters in Stormy wavesZhezhi’s ability descriptions are very convoluted and complex to understand, but her actual gameplay is not all that daunting. Her core gameplay mechanics revolve around her Forte Circuit, Ink and inkingwhich allows her to recall Phantasmatic Prints to the field when its Heavy Attack or Skill is used, provided there are enough Floodher Forte Circuit resource. Affaltus is created by simply attacking enemies with Basic Attacks or Intro Attacks and she can hold a total of 90 Affaltus.

Casting her Skill or Heavy Attack after the third attack in her Basic Attack String with at least 30 Affaltus will summon a Phanasmic Imprint to the field. She can summon additional Imprints for every 30 Affaltus consumed with her Skill. Now that Zhezhi has at least one Imprint on the field, using her Skill will allow her to teleport to the nearest Imprint and deal additional damage with her next Basic Attack.

While on the pitch, Zhezhi deals most of his damage by teleporting to his Imprints and then performing a Basic Attack on themso that’s the gist of what you want to do while she’s there. Due to the nature of her teleportation, Zhezhi is incredibly mobile, which gives her a large advantage over many of the toughest enemies in Stormy waves.

Her off-field damage comes solely from her ultimate, Living canvaswhich creates a huge circle in the sky that causes Ink Ghosts crash into enemies below. This lasts for 30 seconds or until 21 Inklit Spirits are summoned. Attacks from her Ultimate are considered Coordinated attackswhich is crucial to keep in mind when building her team. More on that soon.

That was a lot, but I promise her gameplay sounds more complicated than it is in execution. Let’s talk about her so we can actually build her now.

The best echoes for Zhezhi

Due to her Sub-DPS nature, you have two main options when it comes to Echoes. The build I recommend the most is 4 piece Moonlit Cloudsbecause it allows her to strengthen another teammate 22% extra attack (Attack) when swapped with maxed Concerto. The set gives Zhezhi 10% extra energy regeneration, a nice bonus for keeping her Ultimate dynamic.

If you prefer her to deal more damage than support, you can also run away Frost 4-Piece Freezer Setwhich is my favorite build since I already have a few Moonlit Cloud users on my account. Freezing Frost will greatly escalate her personal damage since it gives her powerful ATTACK boost by 30%, practically permanently.

For its dynamic Echo I recommend using Lampylumen Myriad because it deals massive damage while also amplifying the damage of Glacio Zhezhi.

Best Team Lineups for Zhezhi

Since Zhezhi is a sub-DPS, her role is to assist the team distribute as much of their skills as possible alongside the main DPS, without getting in the way of their required time on the field. It is possible to get 100% uptime on Zhezhi’s Ultimate, and she has a very swift Concerto rotation. Both of these aspects work very well with her top teammates, Jinhsi AND Verina. It also has direct synergy with Sanhauif you can fit it into your team’s composition, but I don’t recommend doing so.

Jinhsi is Zhezhi’s best partner because she provides Jinhsi with everything she needs to completely destroy her enemies. Zhezhi’s Ultimate changes Jinhsi’s Forte very quickly, which is very crucial for synergy with her. Additionally, thanks to her swift Concerto charge, Zhezhi allows Jinhsi to exploit her Intro more often, which allows Jinhsi to enter her high damage rotation more often. Furthermore, Zhezhi’s Inherent Skill, Twirlallows her to charge Ultimate Jinhsi every time she transforms into it. These two characters are made for each other and should definitely be used on the same team.

Verina is a worked-through support that strengthens everyone in Stormy wavesand Zhezhi is no exception. Both Verina and Zhezhi have swift Concerto rotations, meaning they can very consistently and easily activate the powerful buff effects of their Intro skills. Both also have Coordinated Attacks, making them ideal for playing with Jinhsi.

Sanhau has the fastest rotation of concerts in Stormy waves and additionally buffs basic attack damage when she swaps while full. This is completely beneficial for Zhezhi, as all of her damage is considered basic attack damage. Zhezhi buffs ability damage and Glacio when she swaps with full Concerto, which is a huge damage buff to Sanhau. The problem with playing them together is that they are both sub-DPS. However, they still work quite well as a team if you decide to exploit them.

The best weapon for Zhezhi

Zhezhi has three mighty weapon options she can exploit. The first is her signature weapon, Sprouts covered with frostwhich greatly increases her basic attack damage. She also has an insane amount of CIRT damage as a sub-stat.

Her second best weapon is the Yinlin signature, The String Master. Stingmaster is an incredibly powerful stat stick for Zhezhi, thanks to its high CRIT RATE substat and overall ATTACK buffs.

The last recommended weapon for Zhezhi is the standard one Cosmic waveswhich also gives her a gigantic escalate in basic attack damage, although it’s not as mighty as Rime-Drapped Sprouts. Cosmic Ripples also has an ATK% substat. While that’s not bad, ATK% is a large deal in Stormy wavesthis is not equivalent to the CRIT substats of DMG Rime-Drapped Sprout or Stringmaster’s CRIT RATE.

The best sequences for Zhezhi in Stormy waves

Zhezhi’s sequences mainly provide her with raw DMG and ATK% buffs that will definitely escalate her power. However, at S0 (Sequence 0), Zhezhi is more than powerful enough to deal with anything in Stormy waves. Regardless, if you think you know some of her sequences, let me summarize them for you, for your information.

Zhezhi Sequences

  • Brush Finish (S1) – When Zhezhi uses her Ability while having two stacks of Painter’s Delight, she restores 15 Resonance Energy and gives her 10% CRIT for 27 seconds. This S1 removes any potential need for Energy Rechange for Zhezhi, as she can easily fund her own Ultimate with it. Her Ability has a very miniature cooldown, making this S1 a mighty stopping point. The extra CRIT makes her builds much easier.
  • Lively Strokes (S2) – Adds six more Inklit Spirits to Zhezhi’s Ultimate, Living Canvas. It’s a decent chunk of extra damage, but it’s nowhere near powerful enough to be worth investing in, especially for S2. Meh.
  • The Grace of Reflection (S3) – When Zhezhi uses any version of her Skill, she gains 15% ATK for 27 seconds, stacking three times. In miniature, Zhezhi gains 45% ATK all the time, effectively. This is a significant escalate in her efficiency and is worth taking if you are already at S2.
  • Hue Spectrum (S4) – Zhezhi gives her entire team 20% ATK for 30 seconds after using her Ultimate. This is a large buff for her entire team (including herself), all because she casts her Ultimate, which you’ll always be able to exploit thanks to her S1. This sequence is a lot more powerful than it looks. It’s a constant 20% ATK buff.
  • Composition Tip (S5) – Every three Inklit Spirits summoned by her Ultimate will spawn a fourth empowered Inklit Spirit, dealing 140% of the damage of the standard Inklit Spirit. This greatly increases the power of Zhezhi’s Ultimate.
  • Infinite Legacy (S6) – When Zhezhi uses any version of her Skill, it causes an Ivory Herald to appear, dealing 120% of her Skill’s normal damage as a bonus. Since Zhezhi uses her Skill so often, this is an absurd escalate to her overall damage while she’s on the field. Fits S6.
