How to Create a Great Wizard Character
Wizards are Diablo 4‘s a pure spellcaster class and uses elemental magic to differentiate itself from the spells of the Druid and Necromancer. The Sorcerer has six key passives, but only three elements that you’ll base your build around:
Lightning builds operate Lightning’s abilities to deal with vast groups of enemies at once. When you create a Lightning build, you’ll end up using Overflowing Energy Passive Key or Vyra’s Master Key – Passive Abilitydepending on whether you are in melee range or not.
Ice builds specialize in slowing down enemies, making it easier to survive their attacks. Ice builds will either operate Passive avalanche key or Passive ability Shatter Keydepending on how much your build relies on crowd control
Fire builds are all about substantial explosions and burning enemies. For these builds you’ll usually operate either Passive combustion key to burn enemies or Esu’s Key of Ferocity – Passive Skill for powerful, critical hits.
When creating your own Wizard character, you’ll probably end up sticking to one element as your primary source of damage. But that’s not the most crucial thing to remember. Wizards die very, very easily in Diablo 4and have the weakest defensive stats by far — but can deal massive damage if built correctly. If you don’t want to end up dead more often than not, make sure you’re investing heavily in defensive skills while also working towards one of the six key passives we listed above.
