Fire up the sauna. My summer carAmistech’s quirky car assembly boredom simulator is finally ready to leave Early Access. Now it’s a little awkward, but that sounds like the switch will be flipped tomorrow.
Wow, can you believe it’s been eight years already My summer car Released to the world in Early Access? I can’t. In fact, I think it took a little longer because I had been anxiously awaiting it for quite some time before it finally arrived in my hands.
It has achieved quite a surprising level of popularity. This is an extremely unconventional and hostile game. Although its main purpose is to make your car pile junk, you have basic needs like thirst, hunger, hygiene and stress. Also, pee. You need to relieve yourself from time to time, and it doesn’t really matter where you do it. And to end it all, you can die. Finland is a ruthless country of drunk drivers and moose. You could die if you answer the phone during a storm or forget to turn off the main breaker before replacing the fuse.
Even if you turn off permadeath, it won’t count towards your time. You may be stuck in a situation where you’ve made a sedate mistake, trying to make money or just waiting for something to happen. This seems to be intentional as it forces you to leisurely down and take it all in. I love it. This is one of my favorite games of all time.
The last update before leaving Early Access isn’t the biggest, but it does add some intriguing features, such as more voice lines for your cousin (the guy who drives drunk and will give you a ride if you get stuck). Sometimes you will also end up as an inmate if you get arrested. What a strange game. Its creator, Johannes Rojola, has strange priorities when it comes to what to add to the gameplay. For a while, the best way to make money was to brew alcohol at home and sell it to a friend, and then he changed it so that your friend will ask you to drink with him. You’ll only get so drunk that you pass out completely, so that’s actually a large obstacle. I could go on and on about this strange project.
Amistech is currently working on a sequel, My winter car. As the name suggests, it’s a similar concept, but set in winter. Just like before the release My summer carI’m so joyful to get my hands on it. That sounds like it My winter car It’s about to hit Early Access, but how soon will that be? Given the way Amistech operates, this could happen soon or sooner.
