Be silent! Shadow Base 800 FX Review

Published:

The 800 FX shade base is great. It is a generous size without taking too much space. It is colorful and covered with LEDs without trash. It is equipped with four reliable 140 mm fans for quieter operation and a lot of air flow. First of all, it is simple to build. Only for this reason I am sold.

I tested this housing on the computer, the only way I know: building a game computer in it and measuring how well it works. In the case of this compilation (full compilation diary here) I decided on the steel legend of the ASRock Z890 WiFi loaded in Intel Core Ultra 5 245K. To make the processor nippy or silent! DARK ROCK 5 AIR ORDER. On the graphic front, the last Hurra for the outgoing RX 7900 XT AMD. All this went without a problem in the shade of Base 800 FX. Like, zero issues.

There are several ways in which the 800 FX shadow base makes life easier for beginner builders. First of all, the track on the motherboard is returned to leave a lot of space for the top-mounted in the upper part-you can fit into a 420 mm radiator or three 140 mm fans, at the top of the shadow base. It leaves a lot of space in the front of the housing other Municipalities 420 mm or again three 140 mm fans, although each fans can be neatly behind the front mesh.

Speaking of fans, you don’t have to worry about buying many others in this matter. It is equipped with four 140 mm, be silent! Light Wings fans – three at the front, one as exhaust from the back. They are extremely silent. It is a combination of both their size and construction – fans, which means that you can start slower RPM, while maintaining a good air flow and be silent! He claims that the construction of low noise fans with a lower noise rifle bearing.

There are quite clever fans. There is an RGB only around the fan circuit that looks great through the front mesh of the box. The longevity of these fans is slightly lower than some high -class options for 60,000 hours, especially compared to the silent silent!

In my tests, these fans provided a gigantic air flow to the components. Although largely dependent on the selection of the system and the radiator used on both the CPU and the GPU, I measured the Ultra 5 245K core without 65 ° C, and RX 7900 XT is not higher than 69 ° C during the game. CPU reached 76 ° C during more intensive tests, such as Cinebench 2024. They are all absolutely fine with me.

When it comes to reducing noise, it will be silent! The housing is equipped with insulation on a closed side panel. A layer of chunky foam. However, at the front, upper or hardened glass side, which makes me wonder what difference really does it with general compilation noise. To say, it is not a deafening machine with quite simple components and cooling, which I put in it.

Another reason I built in this case, so Gosh-Darn is straightforward is a grave amount of space behind the power supply. There is huge. You really don’t have to worry that behind the panel behind the panel behind the panel behind the panel behind the panel behind the panel behind the panel behind the panel behind the panel behind the panel behind the panel you don’t have to worry that behind the panel behind the panel behind the panel behind the panel behind the panel behind the panel behind the panel behind the panel panel behind the panel behind the panel behind the panel.

The motherboard panel also has long, uninterrupted cable cutouts at the top, side and bottom of the motherboard, thanks to which lightweight work on any cables. My only little problem with the project is that although there is a cable cover on the side, it leaves many cables still quite evident in front.

In defense they are silent! The whole neat cable falls with one Philips head screw. In fact, most of this case is quite available with minimal tools – if any.

The shadow base has an 800 FX controller to control the attached fans, attractive RGB airy rings on each and embedded LED lighting at the front of the housing. This controller is pre -installed on the back of the motherboard, which comes out of one thumbs to facilitate the removal and access to the back of the motherboard.

With connected lighting of the front panel and four fans, two cables per piece, there are still three four-legged fan headers and three 5-volt RGB headers for exploit for further extensions/accessories.

The rear motherboard also takes place for a 2.5-inch drive, and in the shadow base there are three 2.5-inch SSDs basically 800 FX. There is a place for more, but there is only one HDD (3.5-inch) difficult cage contained as an additional optional.

Thanks to air flow, cable management, lighting and sorted cooling, I only have dust. Fortunately, very little in the housing itself, because both the upper, lower and front of the box have built -in dust protection. At the top and the front they are magnetically attached, and the rear slides easily.

Bonus points: The front panel can be removed with minimal strength, and the RGB lighting on it is connected with several stable contacts with the correct connection in the housing. Equally easily comes back.

Buy if …

✅ You want convenience: This is a case that does not bother when building. The panels fall off, few tools are required, and the controller at the back makes it easier to manage fans and lighting.

✅ You want great fans and great air flow: four 140 mm will be silent! Light wings attached to this case are silent, capable of acting. They also look great. You really don’t have to worry about adding anything else – of course, like a processor radiator.

Don’t buy if …

❌ You want the smallest middle tower: It is quite a conventional central tower and absolutely does not try to reduce this shape within its smallest possible size. For the record, it is 550 x 247 x 522 mm.

Shadow Base 800 FX is impressive due to the largely devoid of tools, convenient and expansive compilation. And I say it as someone with a airy bone to choose with the elder, be silent! Previous cases. I come back quite far, approaching the decade (oh my God, I’m so aged); Although I have silent! Dark base 900.

This matter was still used for years, from my computer to my partner and I was a bit afraid of most of the time to open it and change it drastically. It is well built and survived the test of time, but the attempt to move the dog cover or reverse the fastening of the motherboard is not worth trouble.

For comparison, all based on the 800 FX shade falls easily, magnetically attach, requires one screw, if at all … the housing design has changed a lot in the last 10 years, and the shadow base of 800 FX is one of the best examples of this.

Coming to $ 190/180 GBP, you wouldn’t put your foot with a shadow base of 800 FX for money. Especially considering four 140 mm, RGB fans you get for a fee. Although if you want to save money, the 800 DX shadow base is more or less the same with fans outside RGB USD 135/140 £, or there is a straightforward shade base of 800 without RGB USD 96/130 £. Each of them would be great for the next compilation of the game computer.
