Battlefield 6’s Battle Royale mode is coming to PS5 Shadow Drop next week

In addition to the first wave of Season 1 content, it is highly speculated that Battle Royale will also debut in Battlefield 6 as part of the Shadow Drop launch on October 28.

This mode was announced during the game’s huge reveal event, but its release date was never announced. Rumors have been circulating for weeks that this will happen when Season 1 begins, and now Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming reported the following on social media:

“I can now independently verify that Battlefield 6 Battle Royale is indeed scheduled to drop in the shadows on October 28.” This follows from the previous one reports from others leaking data regarding the Battlefield 6 client to find the code strings linking Battle Royale to its Tuesday release.

Until the shadow officially drops, we know that Battlefield 6 will expand for free in Season 1, with content released monthly until December. On October 28, a fresh multiplayer map and an additional gameplay mode will be released, as well as more weapons, attachments and an additional vehicle. Considering that a Battle Royale mode appears to accompany it, this sounds like a significant update to the latest version of the PS5.
