After backlash over changes to the length of Conquest matches in Battlefield 6, Battlefield Studios has rolled back these changes and also adjusted XP and progression in a truly positive way. Consider it a victory for the good guys!
Earlier this week, Battlefield Studios introduced a change to Conquest matches that reduced the number of tickets by up to 30% to keep matches shorter and always completed. This resulted in a slew of complaints from the most vocal parts of the community, who hastily rolled back the change, reverting all maps to 1,000 tickets and 45-minute round timers.
However, they seem a little nervous about itas they say: “Please note that on larger maps such as Mirak Valley and Firestorm, this change may lead to longer match times.”
Yes…. we know. This is what people said they wanted!
The community has also said it wants faster progression, with certain key milestones set after level 20, locking out some of the longer class challenges until you’ve already spent a dozen or so hours in multiplayer. This makes Quests available from Career Rank 20 to Career Rank 10, so you can start completing them faster, and your overall XP has been increased by 10% for completing a match and 40% for Daily Challenges.
- XP for completing the match increased by 10%
- XP from Daily Challenges increased by 40%
- The number of experience points needed to unlock the first 20 attachment tiers has been reduced.
- Note: For weapons that are already in development, the UI may initially display something faulty; this will be resolved after playing a match with this weapon.
- Quests that require Career Ranks 20, 23, and 26 to start will now require Career Ranks 10, 15, and 20, respectively.
The team also notes that some of the challenges themselves have drawn criticism for setting a high bar for specific types of actions, such as healing teammates at contested capture points, receiving suppressive fire (which is more of a byproduct of missing a target), getting kills while using an Assault-class adrenaline shot, or simply needing to get a really vast amount of stuff. Let’s just say they can be a bit of a nuisance.
“As stated in the Community Update, we are aware of the frustrations surrounding the challenges themselves. We are actively working to review them, but these changes will take more time to develop, test and implement.”
So two large and positive changes. Let’s hope the group continues this!
