Battlefield 6 launched just a few hours ago, and someone has already managed to recreate the iconic Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare map, Shipment, in Portal mode.

After years of anticipation, leaks and media hype, EA and Battlefield Studios released Battlefield 6 today, October 10, on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. The promise of a return to the basics of the series has attracted a lot of attention, especially among the Call of Duty community.

Battlefield 6 players can now access the Community tab in the main menu and play on the melee map by simply searching for “Shipment” in the “Search Experiences” or “Browse Servers” tab. It’s tumultuous, clamorous, crowded and constantly strewn with bullets, just like in Call of Duty. There are even 24/7 Shipment servers for those who want to jump into the action.

The top result already has over a hundred likes and thanks to user X/Twitter’s PR specialist at Deep Worlds, Matavatarwho is responsible for bringing Shipment to life in Battlefield 6. They started posting their progress just yesterday, teasing that they are working on recreating the next Call of Duty map, Killhouseand also a map that could represent a Star Wars Star Destroyer.

Black Ops 7 is just over a month away from its November 14 release date, and Call of Duty and Battlefield are looking to win the hearts and minds of shooter fans. Now in Battlefield 6’s Portal mode, fans are already using their creativity to bridge the gap between the two.

Portal is a game mode similar to Halo 3’s Forge, introduced in Battlefield 2042, that allows players to build their own maps and modes. It has mainly been used to recreate and remix fan-favorite events from throughout Battlefield’s long history, but Battlefield 6 removes many of the limitations, encouraging innovative fans to even download maps from other brands. The classic Call of Duty map, Shipment, seems to be the first to make a splash.

We’ll have to wait and see what other crazy fan-made maps appear in Battlefield 6’s Portal mode. At least Matavatar has it already teased are interested in bringing more classic FPS maps to Battlefield 6 – including Firing Range, Nuketown, Ziba Tower, Metro and others.

Battlefield 6 has only been available for a few hours, but we’ve already seen it its queue system reaches over 300,000 playersalthough it shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to start playing.
