As you might expect, Battlefield 6 made a mighty impact; this first-person shooter debuted at number one on the UK physical games chart.
Topping the table is the bombastic multiplayer first-person shooter, and at retail, 82 percent of units sold were the PS5 version.
The game knocks Ghost of Yotei off its perch, with the PS5 console exclusive currently taking third place after a similarly spectacular appearance.
Battlefield 6 in first place and EA Sports FC 26 in second place is a mighty blow to Electronic Arts in the face of the holidays.
It will be engaging to see if the game’s growth momentum will be the same in other regions of the world as other sales reports come in. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is also on the horizon, there is still a lot of work to be done on BF6, but the first look at the sales results is encouraging.
It’s likely that EA will release official sales figures or player counts in due course.
Given the popularity of the Battlefield 6 open beta and its positive reception so far, everything seems to be in the game’s favor at the moment.
Elsewhere, Little Nightmares 3 debuts in sixth place, and our venerable friend Grand Theft Auto V reappears in 10th place.
