Bad news, Helldivers 2 rebels who were hoping to see what would happen if the robots reached Super Earth, your dreams have apparently been dashed

If you’re one of those Helldivers 2 players who were hoping to see what Arrowhead has in store if the Automata make it to Super Earth, I’m afraid you should sit down. With the latest Major Order, it looks like you’ll no longer be able to let the bots barge in on the front door of the divers’ homeworld.

That’s right, the whole player-driven protest movement against balance changes that was intended to allow villains to reach Super Earth and morphed into the Helldivers-style RPG movement has hit a roadblock – people who just want to kill and aren’t averse to following orders.

Late last week, speculation was rampant among those who wanted to call Arrowhead’s bluff about the galactic war that the studio wouldn’t have modern worlds and assets ready to go if the conflict reached Super Earth. Enter a modern MO over the weekend, in which a key planet that fell to the bots has since been reclaimed by the Helldivers.

“While our attention was diverted by the Darkness, the Automata have crept closer to Super Earth,” the message read. “We will not tolerate threats from citizens of Super Earth, but especially from high-ranking citizens of developed worlds whose involvement in Managed Democracy has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. The Helldivers will lead an attack on the Automata to drive them away from Super Earth.”

Naturally, one of the main goals of this order was to regain control of Curia, the closest planet to Super Earth, which had fallen into the metal hands of the robots and, as I mentioned earlier, had already been liberated by the divers. With a few days to spare on the order.

So it seems that Super Earth is sheltered for now, which puts an end to the carefully laid plans of the protesters in the game and leads some to suggest that they believe Arrowhead may have brazenly stepped in to facilitate make sure that order didn’t fail. As for that last point, it’s clear that most of the claims seem to be rooted in uncomplicated player frustration at not getting the fascinating outcome they wanted, and don’t seem to have much to back them up beyond the belief that the studio wasn’t prepared to make it easier to fight a war on the home front.

Whether there are conspiracies involved or not, it seems that if you’re desperate to fight for a Super-Earth, you’ll just have to stall and hope that something like that figures into JOEL’s mysterious plans down the road.
