Avatar Legends: Realms Collide Review – There is no fun at Ba Sing Se

Our verdict

Avatar Legends: Realms Collide is poorly made, cash, a general 4x game with very little to offer from the enormous world of the Avatar series. Grindy Idle Gamely and side tasks unknown every sample of the original story.

As an avid avatar: The Last Airbender Fan, 2025 is a huge year for me. This is the 20th anniversary of the series, we are waiting for the second season of the Netflix series, and Nickelodeon simply played a completely fresh series in Universe Atla. Avatar fans just win, so I was incredibly excited to get a chance to check Avatar Legends: Kingdoms collide early.

Somehow, despite the absolute wealth of the source material and building the world that the creators have established throughout the history of the series, avatar games always seem to flop. Probably the best implementation we saw in Gaang is in games like Fortnite, so I know that I was not alone in the hope that Avatar Legends: Realms collides this trend.

Realms Collide is a 4x strategy game, which is not my genre, but I was ready to try with Avatar and the promise of my father’s first visual appearance. The open cutsceover of the cutscene made me addicted and gladly learned more about broken skulls and the dangers of the ghost world, but unfortunately even playing as my favorite piercing Firebender, Zuko, did not stop me from boredom.

The publisher of Tilting Point told me that Realms Collide contains “addictive gameplay, addictive narrative and stunning visualizations” and I must say that I do not agree. First, the gameplay is quite general, especially in terms of 4X games. I spend most of my time in petite icons to collect materials or update buildings, and I’m not even sure what the purpose of my fortress is in a larger narrative.

Without vague motives and avatar elements, this game may pass like any other general title of mobile strategy. Fighting cultists is repetitive and dull, without the player’s contribution, in addition to choosing the one to send, what is wild, taking into account the very variety of combat styles in the universe Avatar. If I had to do ATLA, I could even decide on an injury, not to idle tactics.

Then there is a narrative element. In addition to the promising opening intermittent, the history of Realms Collide is arduous to follow and it seems that it works as a thinly veiled vehicle for the standard “Make your city to be enlarged and take off the loop of games of larger enemies, which seems particularly not on the spot during the room. So much original message is the anti -war fresh They insist on creating fights and extended avatar games.

I understand the desire to see amazing heroes such as Aang, Korra and Kyoshi Fight Fight Side-Side, but makes setting the period and settings really misleading-probably more if you are an invested fan than if you are free browsing. What do you mean that Kid Aang and Zuko work with Bumi JR and Tenzin in middle -aged? The charming, deep and defective figures from the Avatar universe seem to be badly written and one note, and broken skulls feel like a substitute symbol, without the face of the horde of enemies.

Finally, visualizations are certainly not stunning. The 3D hero models look as if they were reused with resources from other unsuccessful avatar games, the resolution is crispy, and the isometric point of view reminds me of agricultural games from Facebook times. I know it’s arduous, but it’s true! All these problems are connected by the fact that we never see anything. We were simply told through the dialogue that something happened, which is a cardinal sin of film and video games.

It would be irresponsible that it would not be at least to touch the store in Realms Collide. As a 4x strategy game, you spend a lot of time waiting for things, regardless of whether they are research, exploration or expansion. It is 2025, people’s patience is at the lowest level, and companies love to utilize it. There are so many different microtransactions in this game and they all seem incredibly predatory. Yes, the main audience of the Avatar content is adults who grew up watching the program, but it is basically a franchise for children, so advertising so many microtransactions in the game is threatening.

In general, Avatar Legends: Realms Collide is a massive release on all fronts. I am not the creator of games, but I don’t really understand how companies consistently rummage the ball, creating an engaging avatar game that is not full of microtransactions or faults. Of course, if you like 4x games and avatar, it can be your avenue as an ordinary idle game to play throughout the day, but I’m not sure if there is something that can add to come back to me.
