Ubisoft confirmed Assassin’s Creed Shadows will contain romantic plots for the two main characters.
This is according to Shadows“co-narrative director Brooke Davies in a up-to-date interview with yorraptorwho was able to confirm that the mechanic will return after a noticeable absence in the latest game in the series, Assassin’s Creed Mirage (By GamesRadar).
However, Davies explained that the romance storyline will be completely different this time around, considering that there are two playable characters in the story – Naoe and Yasuke.
One sec Odyssey AND Valhalla made it possible to romance the same character regardless of the protagonist you choose, Naoe and Yasuke’s relationship will be more unique and in line with their stories, and will also feature platonic relationships that develop over the course of the game.
“I think that’s something special about Shadows we’re going to have more fleshed out relationships,” Davies said. “The chance to really get close to people, get to know people, all sorts of different relationships that Naoe and Yasuke can explore.
“So this isn’t a dating simulator,” Davies continued. “We have really more serious relationships, long-term relationships that need to be developed.”
The developer also added that there will be “lighter romances” as well, “but you’ll get to know some of these people quite well and you’ll work towards something.” We haven’t learned anything about these characters yet, but JorRaptor did mention that the game will potentially let you develop relationships through branching quest lines, similar to Odyssey.
We recently found out that Shadows will also feature a knockout mechanic that will allow for optional pacifist-style gameplay, as well as an open world with changing seasons that affect combat and movement.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be released on November 15 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon Luna, and PC.
