Ubisoft has just announced that the release date of Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been pushed back from its originally planned November 12, 2024 release date to February 14, 2025. So we’ll have to wait a little longer to see the pretty clouds over feudal Japan.

“As a result, we have made the decision to move the release date to February 14, 2025. The game will be released on multiple platforms, including Steam at launch. Additionally, pre-orders will be refunded, and all future pre-orders will receive the first expansion for free.”

According to Bloomberg Jason Schreierthat last part also comes with Ubisoft adding, “We’re moving away from the traditional Season Pass model. All players will be able to enjoy the game at the same time on February 14.” According to DiversityThe publisher also cited “lessons learned from the launch of Star Wars Outlaws” as a factor in the decision to delay the game’s release.

The official statement referenced above continues: “We understand that this decision will come as disappointing news, especially to those who have been patiently waiting for an Assassin’s Creed inspired by feudal Japan, but we sincerely believe that this is in the best interest of the game and, ultimately, your experience as a player.”
