There are many reasons to create a game from scratch, but for Konami, the decision to create Metal Gear Solid Delta is based on concern for newborn people.
Kids these days – can they even tell which one is Big Boss, The Boss, Solid Snake, Liquid Snake or Venom Snake just by looking at their pictures? Okay, most people probably can’t do this, let alone newborn people, but considering the Metal Gear Solid series has basically died since the release of Metal Gear Survive in 2018, games without the involvement of creator Hideo Kojima, interest in the series it didn’t fall. at the highest level ever. There are, of course, a lot of fans, but most of them probably grew up with them, and in a recent interview for Play magazine (via GamesRadar), series producer Noriaki Okamura talked about how many younger gamers simply don’t know much about Metal Gear.

“One of the things that really inspired us to do the remake was that we realized that a lot of the newer, younger generations of gamers were no longer familiar with the Metal Gear series,” Okamura explained. Aside from Survive, which didn’t fare very well, there hasn’t been a novel game since 2015’s Metal Gear Solid 5, an entire decade during which many novel players haven’t shown up to see a novel mainline title come out.
“Basically, our mission and responsibility was to continue to ensure that the series survives for future generations,” Okamura continued. “After all, we leave behind much more than just DNA, as Solid Snake would say – but then again, who is Solid Snake?” This is a good question and really not basic to answer.
Fans will also be aware that Metal Gear Solid 3 is chronologically the earliest entry in the series, which is partly why they decided to remake it. While Metal Gear Solid Delta was originally scheduled for release this year, it will now most likely release in 2025, although a release date is not yet known.
