Are you a Nintendo Switch Online subscriber? Have you never played Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope? You’re out of luck, because it’s free this week

If you’re a Nintendo Switch Online subscriber and have been wanting to check out Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, this week is the perfect time to do so.

I often forget about Nintendo’s Game Trials, but every once in a while one comes along that makes me think, “Oh, cool, this is pretty convenient!” That’s exactly what happened today, as Nintendo announced earlier this week that this week’s free Game Trial is for the Ubisoft-developed Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope . If you weren’t aware of Nintendo’s Game Trials, it’s a pretty straightforward system: it lets you download the full game for free (as long as you’re a Nintendo Switch Online subscriber, so that’s more of a bonus), with the only catch being that it’s only free for a constrained time. In the case of Mario + Rabbids , that period runs from today, July 8, through the end of this week, July 14.

To be clear, this isn’t just a demo – it’s the entire game that you download, which means that if you have enough time this week, you’ll be able to play the entirety of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, from start to finish, without paying a penny more than you’d normally pay to play online. That’s actually quite doable, at least when it comes to Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, because according to How long to beatIt only lasts a little over 20 hours. You might have a little more trouble if you’re a perfectionist, but for someone who doesn’t have a lot of free time, it’s worth a try.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is almost two years venerable now and is the sequel to 2017’s very well-received Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. The sequel was equally well-received, with our Tom even giving it 4/5 stars, so this free week definitely seems worth it.
