Now that we’re nearing the end of the year and with a ton of huge games being released, it seems that AMD is lagging behind its competition in supporting some of the latest and greatest games coming in time for the holidays. If you’re planning to buy Stalker 2 or Flight Simulator 2024 to play on an AMD GPU over the holiday break, Adrenalin software finally supports some of the latest games.
The latest AMD GPU drivers have appeared with Adrenaline Edition 24/12/1offering a range of fixed issues, improvements and support. Starting with the most significant part, the software now officially supports Marvel Rivals, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Slitterhead, Delta Force, and Stalker 2.
Additionally, the recent update fixes app crash issues when loading a save file in Monster World or while playing Fortnite on Radeon RX 5000 series graphics cards. In addition, H.264 encoding issues in OBS with Twitch have been fixed.
Finally, the recent update highlights known issues such as “Windows Subsystem Limitations on Linux” and “HEVC encoding may not work as expected when using OBS Studio.” Noting these issues means that AMD is currently expected to fix them in the future, although we don’t have a timetable for doing so yet.
AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition is part of the Radeon Driver Suite, which both helps install graphics card drivers and provides a performance checkpoint. It enables you to exploit various Radeon features and helps you get recent drivers for the latest AMD graphics cards and chipsets. So if you’re concerned that your card will be underpowered compared to a similarly powerful Nvidia RTX card, updating your drivers is always a good place to start.
Considering that Stalker 2 is already quite a tough game in many respects, you might as well give it the best chance of working as intended. In our Stalker 2 performance analysis, we noticed that the Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card performed surprisingly poorly at 4K resolution compared to the RTX 3060 Ti, especially considering how it performed at 1440p. The same card had issues in our Dragon Age: The Veilguard performance analysis, although we don’t know if the recent update will necessarily fix that.
As for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, due to the game’s launch status, we were unable to perform full GPU testing, although we did see the game see a noticeable performance escalate when upgraded from 64GB of RAM to 96GB.
In addition to the drivers themselves, Adrenalin software also provides more detailed control over AMD settings such as FreeSync, Radeon Chill, Radeon Blast, as well as the ability to record clips directly from the application.

This is a nice piece of software that you should exploit if you have an AMD-only platform or especially exploit any AMD graphics card. While the best graphics cards today are mostly Nvidia-based, AMD still has some great GPUs.
