We’ve got some bad news, dino buddies – Switch Amber Isle release date he was pushed again. While this treasured prehistoric-themed social simulator has already welcomed PC gamers to its shores, it looks like Nintendo fans will have to wait a few more months to get in on this adorable action.

But you know what? We are willing to wait. Here at Pocket Tactics, we’re huge fans of both dinosaur games and life simulators, so Amber Isle’s adorable combination of the two hits the spot for us. Ambertail Games was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 2020 and since then the team has been working on this game, which is the studio’s debut title.

You play as your own prehistoric Paleo-sona on a mission to restore life to Amber Isle at the request of the grumpy Mayor Clawsworth, the Iguanodon. You can open and adapt your shop to your personal requirements, assist rebuild the island to attract recent inhabitants, and encounter a huge range of Paleofolk from several different prehistoric eras living peacefully side by side.

When is the release date of Amber Isle?

The release date of Amber Isle Switch has been postponed to February 2025. The PC version launched on Steam on Thursday, October 10, 2024, with the Switch version scheduled for release three weeks later on Thursday, October 31.

However, Ambertail has since announced that it had to push the Switch release back again because the team “didn’t feel comfortable releasing something that took longer to get into your hands.”

In a statement, the independent game studio states that “our team has been working to eliminate bugs from our Steam version while making incredible progress to ensure high performance of our Switch version, but the island needs a little more preparation time before we are ready to open our ports and invite you to the shore!”

But don’t worry, Ambertail has also confirmed that “at launch in February 2025, our Nintendo Switch version will include all previous patches and updates from the Steam version” – so you don’t have to worry about missing out on any recent features if you decide to wait for Switch version before you start playing.
