Amazon is slashing the prices of these Steam Deck accessories for Prime Day

It’s no exaggeration to say that the Steam Deck is my favorite gaming device of all time. Listen, I have nothing but love for my yellowing SNES or the Xbox 360 I keep stashed away in my basement. My PS5 is a powerhouse that delivers piercing 4K visuals, and my Switch delivers the kind of delights that only Nintendo can conjure up in its phenomenal software. But the Steam Deck? With its perfect blend of power and portability, it fits my dad’s lifestyle better than any other platform. It’s a great portable gaming PC, but a few extras go a long way to making it even better. And thanks to Prime Day, you can save some cash while also picking up some of the best Steam Deck accessories.

Anyone wondering which version of Steam Deck to choose knows that Valve charges a fortune for extra onboard storage. Whichever model you choose, adding more storage is usually no problem. This 1TB microSD card adds a ton of space at almost the lowest price.

If the Steam Deck has one universal flaw, it’s its battery life when playing resource-intensive games. While the OLED model offers more playtime, you can’t go wrong with adding a power bank to your travel bag. Enter promo code N4W8A2FE and the price drops to less than half its Prime Day price.

I have this dock and it’s great for charging my Steam Deck and playing games on my TV when I feel like it. The docked Steam Deck isn’t as user-friendly as the Switch, but it definitely has its uses.

Jsaux Steam Deck Screen Protector for $7.99 (20% off)

We’ve all had this happen to us at some point with our devices: one day you look at it and see a scratch on the screen. It’s a nightmare because… Always see this scratch every time you exploit your Steam Deck from now on. It’s a bit of a pain, but the best way to avoid scratches is to put a screen protector on your screen. This one is from Jsaux, a reliable company, and comes with two screen protectors, in case one gets scratched.

CRKD Gear Bag for $39.99 (20% off)

For many people, the case that comes with the Steam Deck will be fine. But if you find it useful to take other things with you when you go out, you may want a larger case to stash everything in. This gear bag from CRKD is great. It has a Velcro strap to keep your device secure, and there’s plenty of room for a mouse, external battery, dock, or anything else you want to take with you.

Steam Deck Toolset for $23.78 (15% off)

I don’t recommend taking apart the Steam Deck unless you’re already familiar with rooting electronics. But if you’re going to do it to upgrade your SSD, replace your thumbsticks, or whatever, this screwdriver set will get you in. Just make sure you remove the microSD card first, or you’ll snap it in half. And for good measure, you’ll need Phillips #1 (PH1) and #0 (PH0) screwdrivers to break the Deck open and make any changes.

Once you have Steam Deck up and running, you can swap it out for a novel SSD. This is a more economical way to raise your storage than paying Valve to upgrade. But again, I advise against tinkering with the Deck unless you have experience taking things apart. You could damage the device, and then you won’t be able to play anything, which would be a travesty.
