Amazon has Just announced Two modern Kindle models, both of which are available for purchase. These are not modern Devices not necessarily, just slightly changed versions of the Kindle Colorsoft Amazon launched in 2024. The latest 16 GB model and the first edition for children have now joined all other Kindle’s latest editions on the market.
The main draw of Kindle Colorsoft is that it offers full-color reading, not black and white ee-kinki, which you will receive from Kindle Paperwhite. Adding colors, however, increases the total cost of the device and this is one of the most pricey Kindles available. The modern 16 GB version slightly reduces the price, but at 250 USD it floats around the same price as the iPad.

So what is modern here? The real difference is the amount of storage and the total cost. The original Kindle Colorsoft costs USD 280 with 32 GB of memory. So the newer version has half of the memory for only USD 30 less. For those who do not want to pay more for storage they do not utilize, this is now colors to buy. Although for USD 250, it is worth considering alternative reading tablets that are able to make more. Especially if you plan to read many comics digitally and need additional storage space.
The second modern element here is the first Kindle Colorsoft in history for children. Editions for children of any Kindle models are essentially exactly the same device, but with a comical cover and 12-month subscription for children+ instead of Kindle Unlimited.
Regardless of the differences that make these readers “new”, prices are still quite high so quickly after the first day. At the beginning of this month, Amazon reduced the price of 32 GB Kindle Colorsoft to just 179 USD. Thanks to so recently, it is tough to recommend this smaller model for 80 USD more. I suggest you wait for the next round of Kindle offers to come into force before picking up one of these newer models. This is very likely that prices will fall to the first day on the black Friday this year.
