Alienware’s 5-star QD-OLED gaming monitor hits recent all-time low

Published:

One of our favorite screens and one of the best gaming monitors, Alienware AW3423DWFjust dropped to its lowest price ever of $699 on Dell’s website.

Why is this a good deal? First, it’s a $200 savings off the regular price of $899 and $300 off the MSRP. It’s a great choice for an entry-level gaming monitor, especially thanks to its excellent color gamut, velvety frame rate, and immersive 1800R curved screen.

This monitor has Quantum Dot OLED screen technology, a 165Hz refresh rate, and a rapid 0.1ms response time. No wonder we gave it a five-star review and the coveted Editor’s Choice award. This monitor has all the pros and none of the cons, especially at this price.

Alienware products are known for their build quality, and the AW3423DWF is a predictable standout here. The materials used on the panel are top-notch, and the stand is solid, with no wobble when folded. You also get a sleek design with customizable RGB lighting that syncs with your gaming setup.

Performance is best-in-class (or close to best-in-class), with the OLED panel covering over 107 percent of DCI-P3 (well above the 90 to 95 percent we typically see in this class). Contrast is excellent given the type of panel it is, as is color saturation. And as you’d expect from an Alienware panel, it comes from the factory without any additional calibration needed.

Quantum Dot technology adds a light-emitting film layer in front of the OLED matrix, emitting its own colors when featherlight energy excites the pixels. Science aside, this provides incredible color response and a wide color gamut for the ultimate viewing experience.

Whether it’s SDR or HDR content, the Alienware AW3423DWF will deliver a stunning presentation with little to no calibration. Brilliant colors, deep contrast, and velvety motion processing with very low input lag mean your gaming and multimedia sessions will look their best.
