Over a decade since the release of both games, Ubisoft has added Steam achievements Far Cry 3 AND 4.
These games were released during a period when Ubisoft’s Steam support was half-deleted at the time in favor of its own Uplay service, but the studio returned years later to add this significant feature.
Ubisoft adds Steam achievements to Far Cry 3 and 4
In the post regarding CoupleUbisoft has confirmed that it has returned and added Steam achievements Far Cry 4. The post also claimed this Far Cry 3 achievements are on the way, but when you actually look at the game sidehave already been added to the older title as well.
For PC gamers who hunted Far Cry 3 AND 4 achievements in Ubisoft Connect, we have good news. Achievements will automatically sync across both platforms, so you won’t have to earn them all over again.
Interestingly, Far Cry 3 six achievements were actually removed, but there’s a good reason for that. These achievements focused on the game’s cooperative campaign, for which online servers have since been removed. Although similar achievements also exist for Far Cry 4they can still be obtained, so they will remain in these novel expansions.
This follows a recent trend from Ubisoft, which recently added Steam achievements to several of its older games. This applies to titles such as Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, UnityAND Consortiumbut it’s great to see Ubisoft doing the same for Far Cry number. From what we see, Far Cry 3: Bloody Dragon, OriginalAND New Dawn Steam achievements are still missing, but hopefully we’re already working on them.
No one is quite sure why Ubisoft is doing this, but we’re certainly not complaining.
