Everyone still hates ChrisThe animated sequel to the 2000s sitcom “Everybody Hates Chris” finally has a release date.
One can only wonder how long people will be able to hate Chris Rock, but as it turns out, it’s quite a long time, because people still hate him in the upcoming Central comedy show. Earlier this week, a premiere date for the show was finally set, as well as a first look at the show, which can be seen in the image at the top of the page. The animated series is set to air next month, on September 25th at 10:00 PM ET, although I have to say they’re a bit rushed when it comes to advertising the show – there hasn’t been a single trailer yet, and with a month to go, that’s not encouraging.

Like the original, the animated version is a semi-autobiographical look at the life of actor Chris Rock, who returned to star in and executive produce the version. He will once again serve as the series’ narrator as an adult Chris looking back on his life, and Terry Crews and Tichina Arnold will reprise their roles as Julius and Rochelle, Chris’s parents. Chris’s original teenage actor, Tyler James Williams, is clearly a little too elderly to play the child version of him (he’s been too busy teaching these days), so he will be replaced by Tim Johnson Jr., who will also be joined by Terrence Little Gardenhigh and Ozioma Akagha as Chris’s siblings, Drew and Tonya.
Animation studio Tit This is being handled by a studio that has worked on a number of animated projects, including Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Scavengers Reign, as well as a few games like Hi-Fi Rush, so it’s probably sheltered to assume that that side of things is at least in good hands.
