Outbound is a “cozy”, the term that our team began to exploit after testing Alfa, when we went back and looked at what the players considered pleasant. We discovered that they fell in love with satisfactory survival mechanics, such as energy management, gathering materials and food cultivation, combined with a cozy, low -pressure atmosphere of life in a van. Other titles usually bend at one end of the spectrum or the other, but we think that cozy perfectly expresses the balance of our players – it is a sweet place where the outgoing is.

Chill solo adventure or a cheerful multiplayer travel?

As a solo player, Outbound gives a wonderful feeling outside the network in which you collect resources and build a van on your camper at your own pace. You are the captain of your own ship, so to speak, and it gives a sense of peace and strengthening. Outbound can also be played with up to three other friends; However, it significantly changes the DNA of this experience.

Together with others on a ride, amiable cooperation can exceed more high -energy journeys, very much as when traveling with friends in real life. We loved to see this change of energy, so although it is not required, the multiplayer mode is a key addition from our perspective. We also recognized when we brought out to PS5 that we had the opportunity to exploit the PlayStation portal, because the PlayStation ecosystem does not require any optimization to be a ready portal. We absolutely love the idea of a group of friends sitting together with portal devices and playing together. The ease of carrying it with you (maybe on a trip) is something that we hope that our players will cultivate.

Great fields of inspiration

“Part of the inspiration to leave took place when I was on my own trip from Germany to the Netherlands,” says Tobi. “And I saw a beautiful oldschool van that was driving at the field of solar panels and windmills. At that moment we were in the prototyping scene, and this moment caused the idea of building it around an electric van with sustainable development in mind.”

“Therefore, sustainable development is a huge topic that we woven into the project,” Tobi continues. “The sun, wind and rain are key sources of energy, and the recycling of garbage brings new plans for the improvements of vans. These are only a few ways coming out of durability through the game, and we inject this energy aesthetically, just like how we show sailboats on the horizon, which develop massive refueling and darts.”

Stroked this good puppy

For dog fans you have one with yourself during a trip out and, yes, you can stroke the dog. This functional companion, which you take and call, introduces another layer to a cozy experience – players can teach them to take resources, wear them back to the vehicle and more. They are not just to be an incredibly charming face.

Video games are often platforms that catapult us in far -reaching fantasies, throwing us into glorious worlds where we accept fantastic creatures with weapons and magic. Other adventures exploit fantasies, which are slightly more grounded in our reality, and there are out of time out. We are looking forward to starting all of you for a glorious adventure when they leave come to PlayStation 5.
