In case you missed it, D20Studios has opened pre-orders for Abalon, the studio’s roguelike deckbuilder for iOS and Android. Previously titled Summoners Fate, the CCG puts your tactical skills to the test in a board game-inspired adventure.

In Abalon, you can expect to immerse yourself in turn-based dungeon combat, casting spells, defeating monstrous enemies, and looting tons of dungeon loot on a grid-based battlefield. You’ll be at the mercy of the dice when it comes to random encounters, and with over 500 cards to tinker with, you can try your hand at different scenarios (and different summoners) to aid you in your quest.

The colorful title offers a high level of replayability, with full cross-platform support that lets you play anytime, anywhere, both online and offline. You can also immerse yourself in the fantasy world in portrait and landscape orientations to best suit your preferences.

I personally had a lot of fun playing it when it was still called Summoners Fate, and it’s compelling to see how the game has evolved over the years. If you’re curious about the experience, you can watch my preview to get an idea.

In the meantime, if you’re interested in joining in on the fun, you can do so by pre-registering for Abalon on the App Store and Google Play. The App Store lists an expected release date of August 26, but take that with a grain of salt, as these things often change without notice.
