A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead revealed by Saber Interactive

Saber Interactive and developer Stormind Games have revealed A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, a still and insidious horror game coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC later this year.

As you can tell from the trailer, every moment in A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead will be about trying to survive and navigate the world while remaining as still as possible. You should also remember to utilize an asthma pump and a hand-held noise meter. Of course, this is animation and not gameplay, but it does point out the elements you’ll have to juggle. The game will be based on an original story in which players will take on the role of newborn women trying to avoid nightmarish monsters, as well as overcoming family conflicts and internal fears in this spin-off of the popular film series.

Speaking of which, this news came at exactly the right time, just a week before the theatrical release of A Quiet Place: Day One.

The studio responsible for A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is Stormind Games, known primarily for the psychological horror games Remothered: Broken Porcelain and Tormented Fathers, as well as the action RPG Batora: Lost Haven. Judging by the trailer, this would be a massive step forward for the studio, but they’re focusing on the right ideas and tropes that will work well for a video game – we’re hoping it will have a bit of an Alien: Isolation vibe.

It’s not immediately clear how this relates to A Quiet Place, which was first confirmed to be in development in 2021. This game was also supposed to be published by Saber, but developers iLLOGIKA and EP1T0ME were involved in the project. Saber certainly retained the video game license when it was sold by Embracer, but that game is from a different developer. We asked for clarity on this issue.
