Squirrel With A Gun has now loaded a console release date onto its gun, alongside the PC shell it already had, and my hands are already very high

If you have been using social media and are interested in video games in the last few years, there is a good chance that you have seen or heard about Squirrel with a gun. It’s a game where you play as a Squirrel with a gun, and it’s launching on consoles at the same time as the PC release, which is scheduled for (checks watch) next week.

We actually reported on Squirrel With A Gun when it was just miniature clips of a squirrel shooting a gun in one of those early non-development environments and everyone was like “phwoar, this looks like it’s going to be a cool game.” Now it is and it’s out, although the question is whether it’ll have the depth or staying power of something like Goat Simulator.

Anyway, I’ve already been spanked PC Release Date: August 29game that emerged from those films thanks to developer Dee Dee Creations and publisher Maximum Entertainment, the game now has a proper console. It’s set to launch for Xbox Series X/S and PS5 on October 15 of this year, as revealed in a fresh trailer, which you can watch below.

I hope this also helps you understand what you’ll actually be doing in Squirrel with a Gun, beyond the whole “just being a squirrel with a gun” thing, although of course that’s part of it. It would just be weird if you sold a game on the idea of squirrels with guns and then two minutes into it it turned out to be Burnout Paradise 2 or something. That particular game could also get you in trouble with the law.

I’ll be straightforward, after watching and listening to director Dan DeEntremont explain a bit more about what you’re actually doing in what he describes as a “sandbox shooter and puzzle platformer,” I’m getting a lot of Goat Sim vibes. The platforming feels a little different, especially in how it uses your weapons, but the whole sandbox thing of running around town, finding little activities, and deciding whether to assist or mess with (probably both) a bunch of human NPCs who think you’re just a dumb animal is very Pilgor, and I say that as a compliment as someone who likes a bit of Goat Sim.
