One sec Black Myth: Wukong may not stick to the standard Souls-like formula in every respect, but there are plenty of features borrowed from the beloved genre in this action-adventure title. Enemies respawn after resting at a checkpoint, challenging battles require you to manage your stamina meter, and the perilous exploration can end in certain death if you’re not careful. So it’s understandable to wonder if Black Myth: Wukong includes another popular souls-like element: New Game Plus (NG+).
This mode allows players to replay the game using all the gear and upgrades they earned from their previous playthrough, while also taking on more complex enemies and bosses, and in some cases, completely novel threats not present in their first playthrough.
Black Myth: Wukong provides players with this always-appreciated feature. But is there any benefit to playing through this adventure a second (or third) time? Here’s what you need to know about Black Myth: Wukong NG+ mode.
Does Black Myth: Wukong have NG+ mode?
So yeah, Black Myth: Wukong includes NG+ mode. After completing the game for the first time, you can play through the entire campaign again completely freely, keeping the skills and equipment you’ve already acquired.
Accessing NG+ gives you the chance to find everything you missed on your first playthrough and re-beat all the epic bosses to show them you’re not going to put up with their crap anymore. And if you’re a perfectionist, you might want to play through the game multiple times.
However, it should be remembered that you don’t have to go into NG+ to see every endingbecause you’ll respawn right before the final boss fight after completing the game, allowing you to choose additional endings.
How is NG+ different in Black Myth: Wukong?
If you’re wondering if anything is changing in NG+, the answer is “a little.” While nothing significant is changing with enemies and bosses (aside from them being stronger), you’ll have a few novel options to choose from in the shrines.
You will now be able to upgrade any armor you have crafted, and novel weapon upgrades will be available in the branches you have previously unlocked. Additionally, you will gain access to the Freed Mind Relic, the final relic in the game.
Of course, whether you decide to embark on this second journey is entirely up to you. Just remember that you will be overwriting your current save file, so you can’t undo your decision once you commit to NG+. Choose wisely!
