Upcoming Sony Game with Multiplayer and Live Support Agreement has been in development for eight years.
This comes from AgreementLead Character Designer Jon Weisnewski X / Twitter Post celebrating the release of the 5v5 first-person shooter, which he said he joined when Firewalk Studios had been working on the game for five years (via IGN).
“The game has been in development for about 8 years, and I’ve been there for almost 5 of them,” Weisnewski said. “We don’t have many Launch Days in our career, so today is special for a lot of reasons. Force me to get some good vibes today.”
The shooter is available now on PlayStation 5 and PC for those who purchased the Digital Deluxe Edition, but everyone will be able to play it when it officially launches tomorrow, August 30, 2024.
According to Weisnewski, this is just the beginning of Firewalk Studios’ preparations for “years to come.”
“Concord has so much humanity and depth to it,” the developer added. “I really hope people give it a chance. We’re incredibly proud of the game, and we’re ready and willing to keep developing it for years to come.”
Despite being a live-action shooter, it has been confirmed that Agreement will not have a Battle Pass, as Firewalk wanted to focus its attention on making the game “a rewarding and solid experience from day one, where just playing, leveling up accounts and characters, and completing quests yields meaningful rewards.”
The shooter will, however, feature microtransactions in the form of downloadable content (DLC), which will allow players to purchase optional cosmetic items such as character skins.
Agreement will also receive free post-launch content that will include additional maps for Freegunners (playable characters) and more “regular seasons and post-launch updates.”
