Pokémon Go has Beldum Community Day Event Sunday, August 18, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.in your local time zone.
As expected for the Community Day event, Beldum will appear in huge amounts with a high chance of being shiny. There are also a few other bonuses and perks that we have listed below.
How to catch a shiny Beldum?
According to ancient research conducted by the now defunct website The Silph Road (via Wayback Machine), the shiny Pokémon rate during Community Days is around 1 in 24, meaning that if you play throughout the entire three-hour period, you should find quite a few shiny Pokémon.
If you’re tiny on time or Poké Balls, you can shoot out the incense, then quickly tap each Beldum to see if they’re shiny, avoiding the ones that aren’t shiny. Interestingly, any Beldum you’ve already tapped will be facing the direction your player is facing, so that should lend a hand identify which ones you may have already checked.
What’s the Community Day movement? Beldumevolution learns?
If you are developing Metang down Metagross from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM local time, you will be able to learn paid traffic Meteor Mash.
If you miss the opportunity to evolve it during this period, you will probably be able to do so during the Community Day weekend event in December to get Meteor Mash. If you don’t want to wait, you can utilize Elite TM to transfer.
How does Metagross perform in the meta?
Metagross is one of the best Steel-type Pokémon in the game, only really being outclassed by Dusk Mane Necrozma (a Legendary Pokémon/Ultra Beast only available during the event, so take that as you will). Even better is Shadow Metagross, so if you have the opportunity to get Shadow Beldum from a Team Go Rocket member and have the resources to level it up, you should definitely do so.
Metagross’ best moveset is Projectile Strike AND Meteor Mash and can therefore make quick work of most opponents—especially Fairy, Ice, and Rock-type Pokémon.
Mega Metagross not added to Pokémon Go yet, but you should utilize this as an opportunity to get a good Beldum with the intention of using it to get Mega Metagross. While we can’t confirm any details yet since it’s not in the game, it’s very likely that it will be extremely powerful and worth having.
How to make the most of Beldum Community Day?
During Beldum Community Day the following bonuses will be busy:
- 1/4 of the hatching distance for eggs placed in incubators during the event
- The incense lasts for three hours
- Bait modules last for three hours
- Beldum gets into trouble while taking pictures
That said, you should definitely put some eggs in incubators and burn incense to try to catch some powerful Beldum.
If you can Mega Evolve Alakazam, Slowbro, Steelix, Scizor, Gardevoir, Latias, Latios, or Lucario, you will earn an extra Beldum Candy for each catch.
