No matter what stage of the game you’re at, you’ll be able to load the DLC and set a course straight to the northeastern side of the map, where the platform is set. The novel content works just like you would if you were arriving at any other island in Deepenexcept not everything is unlocked right away. Instead, to open up novel areas of the platform for repairs and upgrades, for example, you have to lend a hand Ironhaven Corp. by delivering research materials, mostly in the form of lumber, fabrics, and other items you’ve been mining all this time, or by fishing on the cursed archipelago.

It takes you back around the entire map, revisiting every location and its creatures, novel and aged. It’s been a while since I played Deepenso it took me a moment or two to get used to the gameplay: Where can I sell fish again? What do I need to fish here? Oh yeah, and don’t stay on the ship all night. But once I got used to the rhythm Deepen Again, Iron equipment felt like a clever addition to the game, not only adding quality improvements to aged mechanics (like a tea that wards off anxiety when you venture too deep into the abyss too behind schedule at night), but also introducing novel ship upgrades to work on, like a novel hull and additional equipment with a low puzzle that unfolds over the course of about four hours.
