- ShiShi: Timeless Prelude is the latest game to come from consoles to mobile devices
- An ultra-cozy, stylized dungeon crawler where you guide the sorceress Elia to complete her oracle training
- Built with accessibility and replayability in mind
It’s that time of day again when we look back at games making the transition to mobile, and today I’m excited to share that Shishi: Timeless Prelude, a previous console exclusive, will soon be coming to mobile in the last quarter of 2024.
In Shishi, you play as Elia, a mage training to become an oracle. However, it’s not as elementary as passing a written exam to become an oracle. You’ll need to take Elia deep into the sanctuary of the roguelike ruins to defeat enemies and complete her training.
When ShiShi calls itself ultra-cuddly, you know it means the same thing. Your cute anime girls in this case aren’t even anthropomorphized, they’re literally bowling balls. It doesn’t get any more cuddly than that, unless there’s a fishing minigame and farming elements. Still, for those of you looking for a throwback RPG that will keep you playing, maybe ShiShi is the game for you.

It’s worth noting that almost everything about ShiShi is very intentional. This is no amateur project, and designer Frédéric McNamara (himself a Duchenne muscular dystrophy sufferer) has put a lot of work into improving the accessibility of games. ShiShi promises to be accessible and fun for everyone, from the most hardcore gamers to family members and youthful children.
