The life of a border patrolman is tense and hectic. Even in the best of times, you have to watch out for those who intentionally or unintentionally skirt the rules. And in the worst of times, your uncomplicated task of enforcing the rules can cross legal and ethical boundaries. Sound fun? Well, if so, you’re in luck, weird person, because Bitzoom Game Studios has announced a sequel to its hit Border Patrol game, Black Border 2.

The original Black Border has since been downloaded 2 million times, and given that the game claims to have been heavily inspired by the infamously addictive Papers, Please, it’s no surprise that it is. After all, there’s something incredibly intriguing about the intricacies of daily life (and the fight for survival) in a place as tense as the border of a dystopian state.

Life on the edge

To that end, Black Border 2 seems to offer a more aesthetically cohesive look for the game. Gone are the weird, slightly clip-art characters, and in comes something that looks a lot like Valiant Hearts. Still, the game certainly looks grimmer, and we wouldn’t be surprised if there were some tough decisions to be made while you were doing your job.

You’ll find out for yourself when Black Border 2 launches. Pre-registration for Android is now open.
