If you haven’t encountered it yet, Songs of Silence is one of the most lovely tactical fantasy games you will ever see. Originally released in 2024, this RTS/autobattler hybrid – with a bit of deckbuilding added – boasts some truly stunning Art Nouveau visuals. The characters, graphics and various unit classes sing from the screen, blessing you with their stunning, evocative appearance. Luckily for us, this lovely action doesn’t have to end just yet, as the massive Celestial Church DLC is launching today, bringing with it a number of highly anticipated features.
The biggest and brightest addition is the six all-new chapters of the single-player campaign, a six-hour expansion pack that expands on the story and deepens Songs of Silence’s lore, bringing all of that incredible visuals to life in a more meaningful way than ever before.
Then a recent faction was added, the titular Celestial Church, which in turn brought a lot of recent units, abilities and cards to employ on the battlefield. I can’t wait to test them all in the coming days.
The expansion was shaped by repeated requests from the community for additional story-focused experiences. Throughout its development, Songs of Silence has evolved hand-in-hand with player feedback gathered from open betas, surveys, and daily conversations between the team and the community. It won’t end there either, as Chimera confirms that another expansion is planned for mid-2026, accompanied by many additional features that will arrive before then.
“Players have been asking for deeper narrative experiences, and the Celestial Church expansion is our answer to that call,” said Songs of Silence executive producer Hendrik Lesser. “We are excited to continue to enhance the game and deliver meaningful content for years to come.”
I loved Songs of Silence upon release and of course I was completely blown away by the visuals, saying, “Stunning. Few other words immediately describe Songs of Silence. Above all, Chimera Entertainment has created a piece of gaming art that looks completely incredible. This 4X strategic battle game does a lot of things differently than its peers in the genre, but its Art Nouveau-inspired graphics shine on the screen with the clarity of a fresh lemon. Having said that, Refreshing is an understatement.”
