You can now play MindsEye in Disaster on PS5 for free – well, sort of.
Published today before Christmas, the so-called Free Starter Package is actually an extended demo, featuring the full campaign mission and a generous addition of “ARCADIA missions and challenges.”
Dev Build a Rocket Boy suggests on PS Store on the site that this demo will be “updated regularly” with fresh content, just in case you feel like you’re missing out on the wonderful world of MindsEye.
Here is the official note:
“Unlock MindsEye’s ever-evolving gameplay with free content. Take part in action-packed campaign missions and explore a selection of new playable content delivered regularly via ARCADIA.”
MindsEye obviously started out as an open world engine called Everything, so we guess the idea behind this demo is to further tease that.
Earlier this month, the studio introduced ARCADIA, which fills the game’s open world with user-generated content.
This is a concept that we have seen in various games, including the eminent Fortnite and most recently even Genshin Impact. The difference is that the titles are built on scientific foundations.
As compiled by Reset Erahere’s everything you’ll get access to when you download the free starter pack today:
- Robin Hood – Campaign mission
- Garden Party – Drone Race
- Chasing the sun – drone race
- Honor among thieves
- Downtown – madness
- Crosstown traffic – race to checkpoints
- Rude interruption
- Turbulence – race
- Free Bird – Sky Race
- Winging It – race to checkpoints
- Craz-Eye Taxi – Race to Checkpoints
- Friendly Fire
- Cruise Control – Sky Race
- Fractured Echo – Survival Horde
- The road to hell – a race
If you decide to purchase the full game, it is currently discounted within Black Fridaybut we encourage you to think carefully about this.
Here’s what we said in ours MindsEye PS5 review: :
“MindsEye is a broken, tedious game that was somehow released into the world. It has little glimpses of something semi-entertaining with its cutscenes and plot, but bogged down by a tedious, large-scale map that’s at odds with its aggressively linear campaign, and complemented by a uninteresting, repetitive gameplay loop that’s downright archaic.
