Xbox developers are excited to bring their games to PS5

Last year, Microsoft announced plans to bring “four” exclusive titles to Sony’s console. The situation has finally led to virtually every reliable title from the Redmond company now appearing on PlayStation.

For teams working at Xbox, this is a welcome change.

I’m talking to 404 Media on Microsoft’s ever-changing strategy and its alleged pursuit of a 30% profit margin, a Bloomberg journalist shed some delicate on the teams’ feelings regarding the transition to PS5.

He said:

Flagship titles like Gears of War Reloaded and Forza Horizon 5 released on PS5 this year and sold extremely well, justifying Microsoft’s strategy and culminating in the announcement of Halo: Campaign Evolved earlier this month.

As part of this announcement, Halo Studios stated that the future of Halo is on PlayStation, suggesting that all upcoming installments will run on Sony’s system.

Although Microsoft has committed to developing future hardware, Xbox Series X|S sales have declined and software sales within its ecosystem have been hampered by Game pass.

With Microsoft’s top brass reportedly demanding higher profit margins in the wake of its Bethesda and Activision acquisitions, the company was more or less forced to port its games to the PS5, where full-price software sales remain robust.
