Bethesda has revealed details of the November patch for Fallout 4, which adds the all-new Varmint rifle and fixes various crashing issues. However, the November patch will not expand mod storage to consoles as planned. However, console players must be aware that the release of this update in December will reset the mod loading order, so appropriate action should be taken.
If you’re playing Fallout 4 on consoles and using mods, follow these steps to make sure it doesn’t affect your loading order.
- Go to the Creatives menu and select the Load Order menu by selecting the option shown at the bottom of the screen.
- At the bottom of the Load Order Menu screen, select “Load Order Archive.”
- Select “Save load order on Bethesda.net.”
- Select “Yes” to confirm.
- You should receive a message confirming that your current load order has been saved to Bethesda.net
- Exit the menu and allow the game to reload the data files. The game will confirm the loading order change, which means the process is complete!

Crash and stability fixes
- Fixed a crash when starting a current game with Creations installed on PS4.
- Fixed a crash when exiting from an interior with an open Pip-Boy (PS4/PS5).
- Guest/local users no longer have access to the Creations menu, resulting in an inoperability
- Fixed a infrequent crash when selecting the load order for save data, especially when loading saves with missing creations.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when selecting “Buy Credits” on PC
- Fixed a crash when selecting “Download all Creation Club creations you own”
- Output records are now created correctly when exiting to the main menu
- Fixed infinite loading when retrieving missing Creativity Club content from a save made on another platform.
- Switching Xbox user profiles no longer causes software lockouts or loss of control.
- Fixed an issue where loading a save file with different creatives enabled would not display a warning about the loading order
- Downloading a work and immediately disabling it will no longer permanently disable content based on it
User interface and user experience
- Performance improvements in the Creatives menu across platforms.
- Fixed softlocking when entering/exiting the Creations menu multiple times.
- Fixed infinite loading/hanging when loading a save file that requires crafting.
- Bundle prices now update immediately after purchasing individual items in the bundle.
- Packages now show correct file sizes for included works.
- Location improvements.
- The in-game Creations menu now respects the player-defined loading order rather than the alphabetical order.
- Players can now like/dislike creations in the Load Order menu as intended.
- Guest/local users no longer have access to the Works menu; the option is now greyed out just like on PS4.
- Downloaded works will now remain noticeable in your load order after being deleted from BethesdaNet
